uploader sync problems

Anyone else having major issues with the uploader? I was told by tech support (ticket #61902) that pogoplug has purposely removed functionality from the webui. No longer can remote access folders be used in a backup as the SOURCE folder. However, they are still allowed as a destination folder. The webui method has always worked until the last update. It allowed backing up folders on a computer to the pogoplug, from anywhere and could remain on in hte background. With 2 pogoplus in two locations, this was invaluable. Support now says that the only method now is by using the uploader. I'm having three major problems with uploader. Probably all related... 1. I create the sync connections and start them. Close the setup box and immediately open the dialog box back up. Both the destination folder and the pogoplug device have randomly changed. No longer is the home computer backing up at home, but into the wrong drive on a different pogoplug at the office... . 2. This generates a lot of newtork traffic. HOwever, after 30 minutes, no files have actually been backed up. This could be a problem caused by #1, in that it isn't putting them where...

webui has lost a critial function

My setup is 2 pogoplugs, 30 miles apart. Each has two drives. The office backs up to pogoplug and then that copies to the house. Then house data is similar, but moves to the office. I has work almost flawlessly for two years. But with each update of the drivers and webui, it degrades. Now the most important function for me is gone. In the webui, when setting up a backup, remote access drives can no longer be used as a source. However, they can still be used as a destination. This changed a few weeks ago. If remote access drives can be used as a destination, they obviously can be sensed COULD be used as a source. The importance for me is that I used to be able to initiate a backup of a remote system. But no longer. I've submittted a ticket (#61902), but alas, they say that it was purposely removed and that uploader is the only solution. That would be fine if the uploder worked but it randomly changes both the drive and pogoplug in hte destination. Lots of time uploading, but nothing happedns and I have no idea where those files are going. Somehwere, but...

iOS app inferior to Android app in all ways

I go both ways, I'll just put that up front. I have no preference Android vs. iOS, they each have their advantages. In the pogoplug world, scrap the iOS app! Yes, it backs up your pictures and movies (although it turns the movies sideways) but it won't let you watch ANYTHING. The hilarious option to "Open in..." sounds like it would be great to open the file in Oplayer or any other movie player that will play MKV and DivX just fine... But, no, it then takes you to a screen where you wait forever for a download bar to run across the screen. Why no "Open in..." Android, you click on the movie file, it opens up MXplayer, and you're good to go! I'm sure this has something to do with Apple's rediculous rules in cross-app connectivity, but the Andoid sure makes the pogoplug a much more useful tool. Anyone found a way to watch your divX files on iOS, other than setting up your own separate media server?

Multiple files appearing in web and local apps.

Anybody else getting multiple (ghost) files showing up on the PPlug uploader and in the web access listings? Any way to eliminate this? Maybe it's cause I've had to eject and reinsert my drives a few times while getting things set up? Your thoughts about solving this are are welcome, if you have some.

Syncing Pogoplug music files as local files to Spotify or iTunes

Hey there, I apologize if this has been asked already, but I'm trying to get all of my music stored in the pogoplug jukebox to be synced up to my Spotify or iTunes apps. I like the controls and versatility of these players moreso than the pogoplug player. I've attempted to backup all of my music into it's own /music folder, and then add that folder as a local files location in Spotify, but it's a hassle to keep synced. Column Width in Web Access View

Hi I'm not sure if I'm missing something really obvious but when I'm viewing my files through the web access, the filemane column is not wide enough to show the full name. Is there any way of widening the column or of deleting the collaborate column so the file name bit is wider? Thank you for any help.

Copying Stops if WEB UI closed

Anyone else able to confirm that if you start a copy of files from one location to another through the WEBUI, and then "Hide" that window, that you have to keep the WEB UI page OPEN otherwise it won't complete the copy? It will finish the file you were on, but stop after that.

Timeline available ?? when viewing a shared link

Hi, The interface for Pogoplug viewers (ie, recipients of shared links who access pictures etc. of the owner of the Pogoplug) has changed several time recently, and I am kind of lost with the new one. Can they have access to a timeline, or at least better interface than folder by folder view (which is annoying especially with iPhoto under Mac as there are tons of small folders with a few picture in each one of them). Don't See Pogoplug in Explorer

Before the recent Pogoplug upgrades, I used to see my pink Pogoplug as the P drive on my main computer which has Windows 7. Last week, I added a UPS system to the computer which shuts everything down including my Pogoplug overnight. Now I no longer see the P drive and don't see any way to add files. The new browser shows everything plugged into Pogoplug but I haven't found a way to add new files from the browser. I also have an older computer with XP that is conencted to my router. From there, I do see the P drive, see all the Pogoplug files and can add new files from that computer. However, I would like to have the same capability on the Win7 computer. How do I do it? Thanks.

New user, have a few questions

Hello all, I tried a search first to see if I could find my answers, and I couldn't. Forgive me if I didn't search enough and I am asking repeat questions. First, I need to start out by saying the main purpose of the pogoplug was to replace what Apple is getting rid of. We were using the .mac online storage to host pictures. Family had access to the folder, and it was a nice layout, in that they could see small icons of the pics and then they could download the original if they wanted. Apple is discontinuing this service if you haven't heard. I purchased the pogoplug and attached an HD. I don't like the timeline function. I see in the files tab, I can re-organize and make folders based on what I want, but when I upload using the Mac pogoplug software, it automatically creates folders based on time. How can I stop this? It's annoying to upload one photo only to have it burried in the 2nd subfolder for example. Also after I have made my folders in the files tab, the photos tab takes all of the photos out of their folders and gives many...

New User - Pogoplug as back up

I have an external hard drive attached to my Airport Extreme wireless router. I manage my entire MP3 library on that drive. I want Pogoplug to act as the backup to that MP3 library. I've tried to set this up via pogoplug sync, but no luck. I assume the problem is that the drive attached to the AE, not my laptop itself. In other words, is it the wireless protocol that is preventing me from backing up the AE attached drive? This seems like a simple capability for Pogoplug to accomplish. Any suggestions?

I ejected my hd. Then I added more stuff on it because it was taking so long to transfer over to the Pogoplug. Then I plugged back in to the Pogoplug, then I reloaded the drives, it shows that the dive is there. But when I access the drive it shows the folders but I get this message: "Error it appears this device is unavailable" please help
