If I want to email a file to my Pogoplug, can I just do that from my computer? My email address listed as one of the "approved" email addresses in my General Settings. Can I just email from a computer, or can I only upload from a mobile device? I know this sounds like a stupid question - the answer seems obvious to me, but maybe I'm wrong. What I don't understand is how all these people sending an email to upload@mypogoplug.com are having their emails directed to their Pogoplug drives. I did try emailing to the above address. I set up where I want the emailed files to go. After I emailed it, the file just disappeared and never arrived.

Unable to Accept Terms & Conditions on a SHARE

I shared a folder with a friend, and she received the message with the link. After entering & confirming her password, she checked the Terms & Conditions CheckBox, and was directed to the Terms & Conditions page. After scrolling to the bottom, the "I Accept" link is still inactive. I tried the same thing with one of my test eMail addresses, and I was able to complete the initial sign-on without encountering this issue. What could cause the problem my friend is experiencing, and what is the remedy?

Pogoplug links have stopped working

I have been getting the "Undefined" error. I have using pogoplug to host audio files I post to Facebook. It was working for awhile, but now I am just getting the undefined error when the the link is clicked on. Is there a way to fix this?

Sharing from "Shared with me"

I am a big fan of Dropbox for its flexiliblity. I recently switched to pogoplug (I bought the device) to circumvent the "storeage space" limitation of dropbox, but soon ran into sharing-issue. Anyway, so I share a folder (with full access) with a friend of mine with 20 files in it. Since he is the one cordinating the project he needs to share those files with 5 other users (4 files per user). Inspite of having full access he has no option to share it with anyone. So the question is... is it possible for someone to share file (with other users) which I have shared with them? Thanks!

HELP: fails to connect the dockstar IP after hours

Hi I'm a newbie to the forum and the WFS usage of the dockstar. Now I have the trouble of connecting the dockstar through the WFS. I had activated the local WFS service through pogoplug's online service, and made the local IP accessible (i.e. \\192.168.2.X from the Windows Explorer). Then map the seagate device as a drive letter (Z:). It works great for hours. Then it fails to be be connected LOCALLY, but still available from the online service "dockstar.pogoplug.com". There I found that the settings were not changed (the drive is still activated). Then I doubt if the IP was reset or lost. But to my surprise, the IP is still listed in my router's device table - valid and not changed. Can anyone give any idea of solution? (Shall I have to change the “groupname” to equal to my home network's groupname? I thought it's unnecessary though) Thanks a lot!

Folder and File permissions summary

Hi, I'm using my pogo to share various folders and files among my different clients. I want each client to have r/w to their folder, but no access to the other folders. I'm willing to setup accounts for them, but I don't want to ask them to setup pogoplug accounts. Yes, I'm thinking Windows Server permissions. How can I accomplish this? Thanks, Bruce

Document File Preview Displays a Blank Page

Hello, when I share my documents folder on my PogoPlug, at fiest the files show as an image file (*.png), but if I wait long enough it shows as the document type it is, but when I click on it to preview I get the "wait while rendering" message and whirlygig, but then it displays a blank page - usual showing 1/2 ans 2/2, but both are blank. I figure I'm doing something wrong, but not sure what. Ideas? TIA

Security of Files on Pogo Plug

Quite tempted to buy one of these devices, the main use I see for it is sharing files between myself and wife who use different computers. How secure do people find the device as it is published on the internet. Persumably the security of the files is down to the access rights that you set up with the login/password on Pogo website? Can anyone randonly connect to the device and access files without the login/password?

View only, Download, Limited access, Full access

It seems to me after using the pogoplug for almost a year now that there are a few features missing. In particular the sharing feature seems to be lacking. My suggestions are 1. Have a view only option. With the current view/download option it, it worries me that the files I share can be downloaded and then from there given out to anyone. For example home videos, I would like to share them with family and friends without the fear that they will end up on youtube somewhere. 2. The next option should be view/download. 3. There should also be an option where another person can upload to the folder. 4. The next option would include being able to delete files from a shared folder. All of these options would work best if you were able to pick and choose according to the folder and the person you are sharing with. For example, for each folder or file you wish to share you should be given the option to add any, one, or all of these options. 1. View 2. Download 3. Upload 4. Edit/delete

Cannot Add Email address to Share

Anyone else getting an error message when attempting to add an email address to a share? I've tried restarting pogo, browser, new browser and problem remains with a specific email address. Error is: " An unhandled RPC exception occurred on method addAlbumShare: 500 [Unspecified server error]" One of the 2 email addresses I have been emailing gets this error. Sometimes when it errors it removes other addresses from the share and nobody has access. Not sure what to do next.

Direct Link feature gives incorrect URL

When I want to create a direct link to a file, the first time it gives me the incorrect URL. But when I go back to "Edit Share" and then look at the URL again, it has the correct one. Here's the one it gave me when I first created the direct link: http://my.pogoplug.com/share/Oj5ILFoG9WC_pO8QqCkgJgItptmqoXG-j-eNM1PSYHwF9fpzk/votecrazy.png Here's the correct one after clicking Edit Share again: http://my.pogoplug.com/share/Oj5ILFoG9WC_pO8QqCkgJg/ItptmqoXG-j-eNM1PSYHwF9fpzk/votecrazy.png The difference is a missing slash ( / ) in the URL.

Sharing and Drive Designation

Please help: 1. I wonder if the file sharing assignee can upload a file to PogoPlug drive and then re-share the uploaded file to others? Or the file sharing assignee can only download, upload, delete file but cannot re-share the uploaded file to others? 2. When ever log off and re log in to the PogoPlug online dirve, that is the drive will show on my computer, the new drive assignment always change. How to fix it so the same drive ID stay no matter how many time log off and on occured? It is essential when using back up software!
