Very slow perfomance of pogoplugfs

Hi all I am using a pogoplug Pro with an external drive full of files. I also use pogoplugfs to connect from a kubuntu 10.10 x64 system. The connection is made through a 100 Mpbs ethernet cable. I am experiencing a very very slow connection using dolphin. Amarok is almost unusuable. In the terminal, each time I follow a folder I see the following error appears in the terminal: [065756.160][139973][HBFUSE][08] -- READDIR UPDATE OFF OF LAST [0x1000 0x0022]: {1365} #### Filename #### [065756.300][139973][HBFUSE][08] -- READDIR NO ROOM [32 < 56] {1433} #### Filename #### [065756.301][139973][HBFUSE][08] -- READDIR UPDATE OFF OF LAST [0x2000 0x0020]: {1432} #### Filename #### [065756.430][139973][HBFUSE][08] -- READDIR NO ROOM [8 < 56] {1500} #### Filename #### [065756.430][139973][HBFUSE][08] -- READDIR UPDATE OFF OF LAST [0x3000 0x001e]: {1499} #### Filename #### I have replace the real name with #### Filename ####. Does somebody know what is the problem ? Regards
[Read more]

Is there a way to mount Pogoplug without pogoplugfs?

Hi everyone A quick question which is as the title states: Is there a way to mount Pogoplug without pogoplugfs? I currently use the 32-bit version of pogoplugfs and would like an alternative way of mounting the device. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
[Read more]

File permissions on Pogoplug - executable files

Hi all I am having problems with file permissions on my Pogoplug. I have copied a number of files across which for me have rwx (read, write and execute) file permissions. Strangely when copied to the plug the files have lost the executable permission. Doing either chmod 700 filename or sudo chmod 700 filename does not bring back the executable permissions. Does any one have any idea why this is? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. For information I have a v1 pogoplug (pink and white EO2 with 4 USBs). One of these USBs has a Western Digital drive attached and I'm running Linux accessing the drive with pogoplugfs. I have a mount point setup /media/pogoplug which is owned by me and in my group.

Hey i have a Pogoplug V2 since day one i use Ubuntu and never had issues with it... Currently i use 11.04 32bit and lately i have issues to move files onto my Plug.... I can start up/downloading and all of sudden it will freeze and just quit loading... I can only force it to shut the pc down and then reconnect to it. Playback is working fine and in WIN7 it works too.... Did something changed in 11.04 that messing that up??? Thanks Michael
[Read more]

Pogoplugfs scripts for username/password

Hi, Tonight I was reinstalling my Ubuntu machine and because this machine is going to be connected to the internet I did not want to store any passwords in clear text on the machine. Auto-mounting my Pogoplug was not needed. And to make my life a little easier for mounting, I made a small little script to ask me for a username and password to mount my Pogoplugs. [code] #!/bin/bashecho Pogoplug Hard-Disk script echoread -p "Enter your login : " loginname stty -echoread -p "Enter your password : " passwrd; echo stty echo echo echo Logging in your Pogoplug and mounting it. ./pogoplugfs --user $loginname --password $passwrd --mountpoint /media/pogoplug [/code] Now this only works if you already installed pogoplugfs and knows that it works. Just change the paths if needed. Script is super-simple and can be used free of charge. Just think of me when you are using it :) LOL
[Read more]
