compiling question from new pogoplug v2 user

I've just had my Pogoplug v2 a couple of weeks. I've been using is mostly with the Pogoplug software, and I've also successfully installed transmission. I was a bit of a novice unix user 15-20 years ago, but I'm really brand new to linux. I'm making an attempt to compile the "hdhomerun_config" so I can play around with recording streams from my HDHomeRun to my external drive (mounted on the plug). I've read the odd forum post here and there where people have been using this successfully with cron or at to schedule recordings, etc. This sounds like exactly what I want to do. I successfully downloaded and extracted the source libhdhomerun_20100213.tgz file to /tmp/.cemnt/mnt_sda1/HDHR/ which now has a folder "libhdhomerun" I used "ipkg install" to install gcc and makefile. Next, I cd to tmp/.cemnt/mnt_sda1/HDHR/libhdhomerun and run "make" which returns the following: gcc -Wall -O2 -Wmissing-declarations -Wmissing-prototypes -Wstrict-prototypes -Wpointer-arith hdhomerun_config.c hdhomerun_channels.c hdhomerun_channelscan.c hdhomerun_control.c hdhomerun_debug.c hdhomerun_device.c hdhomerun_device_selector.c hdhomerun_discover.c hdhomerun_os_posix.c hdhomerun_pkt.c hdhomerun_sock_posix.c hdhomerun_video.c -lpthread -lrt -o hdhomerun_config Now I get about 12 error messages that seem to say I have no space left on the device: hdhomerun_config.c:698: fatal error: error writing to /tmp/ccqfKCsX.s: No space left on devicecompilation terminated. If I do...

i'm going crazy ;) i'm not getting my "umlauts" like Ä, Ö und Ü to work. On the Plug runs openpogo and samba2... connecting via windows-network, my "Ä" looks like "ü". Now i'm not able to store files with umlauts using samba...
Hi, Is there any APIs to automate the process to 1. Sign in into Pogoplug server. 2. List out files shared to the sign in user. 3. Play a video. Thanks Jey

Problems booting with multiple drives with plugbox

I know this sounds dumb, but I can't figure this out. I have plugbox installed on a USB flash drive, and it has the boot flag set, but I am unable to get the plugbox uboot loader to actually boot from it if I have other drives attached. Here is my setup: 4GB flash drive with 2 partitions: a) 3GB partition for root use (and marked as boot) b) 1GB swap partition 160GB drive 1 partition as vfat 250GB drive 1 partition as ext3 I've tried changing the UUID to a lower value on the root/boot partition, and the disk identifier to a lower value (via dd) on the drive to no avail. What other things can I do to leave all 3 drives connected during boot? Pastebin

I was trying to install PlugApps and after the restart I cant connect via ssh. I have read around about creating a serial cable and re falshing. Would the DCU-65 cable from a sony ericsson K800i be of use to make such a cable? Thanks

Got PlugBox Installed On USB...What Other OS's Can I Install Like This?

So it was rather simple to install using the documentation provided, and other than some random issues when rebooting (Sometimes it boots into PlugBox, sometimes it doesn't) it's pretty sweet. Problem is my limited (But growing) linux skills are based off my time using Ubuntu, so I'm more comfy with that. Arch looks fun, but I don't want to have to relearn things if I can help it. From what I understand, the bootloader checks for a bootable USB drive, and if it's there it boots it...this is how PlugBox works. Can I setup a different drive with Ubuntu and just plug in which ever on I like to boot off it? And with none plugged in it'll boot the default PogoPlug linux...I like having that option always available to me. I've downloaded the files for the SheevaPlug to use Ubunt 9.04, would that work with the PogoPlug? Do I just extract the files to a different drive and then plug it in and go? If so that would be too cool...and too simple ;) I'm gonna try that in the mean time, but any tips, info, or links would be much appreciated.
