Hi all.  I'm new to Pogoplug, but I just got the series four and a Mybook essential 2TB drive.  THe pogoplug sees the drive, and took all night to index the files-

when I log on using a computer, I can see that all of my files are recognized by pogoplug.  It's all music, @ 1.75TB.

However, when I launch the app on m iphone and begin indexing, it goes and goes till it hits @ 14000, then it stops.  When I search for specific albums I KNOW are aon the drive and that Pogoplug has already indexed (on the computer), I can't find many of them.

The problem doesn't seem to be that it only sees the mp3s and not the apple lossless files-it IS seeing some files that are for sure apple lossless.  But...I can't figure out how to make it completely index the whole drive.

I've rebuilt the index @ 5 times now, same thing every time.  Help!  I bought this solely to stream my collection to my iphone, so without this functionality....this thing is useless to me.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi splitsurround--I've passed this on to the folks at Pogoplug, but you should also put in a support ticket with them as well. I am not aware of any indexing "limits" for the mobile apps, but hopefully you'll hear something soon.

yep...... same problem for me I have 56000 songs and stops between 14000 and 15000

Brief update: iOS app in fact caps out at 14,000 songs says the support ticket I entered. They're "checking" to see if the new build fixes this. Super lame.

The pogo plug uploader shows only the same limit...... around 14000..... how ever it does upload all the songs to the drive....

the way around this apparent limitation is on the phone app go to the Files icon then go folder/external drive where all your music is stored on the pogoplug - just click on the little star (favorites icon) to what ever folder you want to see. Go back to the app and you should see your music under the Favorites folder.
This works for me.

What you will discover is that pogoplug is very limited with its music jukebox - so I went with another app - Audiotap which than gives me the access to the pogoplug with Itunes and it works great

hope this helps...ED

Yeah, I've been frustrated with this limit for a while... One of the main reasons I went with a pogoplug was to avoid the file size and song limits (and cost) of online streaming services that have you upload your entire song library. This indexing limit definitely reduces the usefulness of the product for me. Could be a memory thing for iPhone apps, but I would think there are ways around that...
