I apologize if this has been answered previously but I could not find the appropriate thread.  I have a PogoPlug Mobile with a terabyte harddrive attached.  I copied about 100 GB of music to the drive, plugged the drive into the Mobile, installed the iPhone app and the first time I ran it the music files indexed and all the artists/songs were displayed in the Music folder.  The next day, however, I added more files to the harddrive and when I ran the iPhone app the new music did not get added to the index and did not show up under the Music folder (although they were under the Files option).  I had to uninstall the app, reinstall it and have it go through the entire indexing process again in order to get the new files.  Is there an easier way of incrementally adding new music to the Mobile and having the songs show up in the Music folder?

Greetings -

I had a similar issue with my new PogoPlug Mobile (which by the way I am in love with the speed using ATT 3G network, big improvement). Anyway - I added music and at first it didn't appear in the Music (Jukebox) on the mobile app.

What I did was in the mobile app, under 'settings' I selected 'Rebuild Index' and all was well.

I did (per another post out here) came across an annoying issue where the music was 'there' but not listed under the Artist or the Album name. I then used TuneUp (as I couldn't tell on my own what exactly I was missing in the file for PogoPlug to properly categorize things). TuneUp udated the track data and I noticed my phone's app automatically rebuilt the index and now the tracks appear as I expected (their track name no longer using the 'filename' and the album actually appeared).

Again - not sure what was missing in the file itself that PogoPlug didn't like that it originally dumped the files under 'unnamed' but to rebuild the index use the steps i mentioned within the mobile app.

If that doesn't help, then rescan your drive via the my.pogoplug.com setting for that drive. Obviously, a fast drive will make this scan go alot quicker.

Hope that helps...

Thanks for quick response. Unfortunately I tried the "Rebuild Index" option and this did not cause the new album(s) to appear. I will try "Rescan Drive" in my.pogoplug.com.

Thanks.

Quick thing to remember - after rescanning the drive (might take awhile based on how much is there and the speed of your drive) if the songs aren't there by looking under Artist or Album (again, my mobile app auto re-indexed itself) check under 'Unnamed' as that's how I discovered my music was there but the file's are missing some information that PogoPlug needs to categorize things properly in their music app.
I am sure if compared to a file that appears correctly to one that doesn't I can figure out what's missing causing them to be 'unnamed' but my initial quick check between the files didn't show anything right away. That's why I used a 3rd app, TuneUp, to clean up my tracks and the music was properly displayed under Album or Artist after yet another index rebuild.

Now that I know the music is there but missing information (I discovered alot of music there), I have some track cleaning to do. The indexing seems to occur on it's own but sometimes a file you put on the drive isn't always immediately available in the Music app until the drive is 'rescanned' and/or the phone's app has it's index rebuilt.

Sometimes you just need to kick start things...
