I have a recently jailbroken Apple TV 2 with XBMC Eden installed. I am able to see files from the Pogoplug through UPnP but the Apple TV2 freezes when I attempt to open any file.
Has anyone experienced this and solved the problem?
Also, I have read somewhere that installing uShare as the UPnP server on the Pogoplug will resolve this? Is this true and does anyone have instructions on how to install this?
Thanks for the help.
I wish I could say that it was resolved. I'm not a master of SSH, so I found the guide that was mentioned hard to follow. I also have not heard definitively if loading uShare solves the problem.
Iwill continue to look for a solution. If I can't play files from the Pogoplug, the Apple TV with XBMC seems useless.
Hi again. I have found an excellent work around that allows you to stream to apple tv from Pogoplug via iPad2 or iPhone 4S (have only tried IPad2) using AirPlay. It's an App called BuzzPlayerHD. It recognises the Pogoplug under the Samba FTP option and allows you to browse your Pogoplug and play videos. If your ATV2 is on you just select External Display on the menu bar at the bottom and the video plays perfectly on screen whilst the IPad screen switches to a 'video being played externally' screen. It's very impressive and no jailbreak is required. You have to turn on mirroring first for some reason but output is Aiplay and full screen. Cheers. Barry
I created a work around that works but inefficient. On my laptop I made the P drive a shared network drive. I can assess my laptop using SMB in XBMC as long as my laptop is on. The other issue I have is when I restart my laptop the P drive is no longer shared so I have to update the preferences.
I did some additional research on my work around and came across a way to automatically share my drive at start-up using the below link. The only change I made to the instructions in the link is to delay the task for 10 minutes after start-up. That way I know the drive is loaded and the Pogoplug software is done doing its thing.

Thanks dslnowboarder3. I had got as far as you but was annoyed I had to update the preferences every time I reboot my laptop. This link looks like the answer. Happy days. :)
I'm using Pogoplug thru a Seagate Dockstar, but when I use XBMC on a ATV2, the drive appears under the Windows Network (SMB) option, not the UPnP Devices option. I've had no problem playing video stored on my external harddrive connected to the Dockstar. I'm new to XBMC, but this makes the ATV2 so worth it based on price and small form factor and ease of use.
I was able to do this by installing Samba on the pogoplug. Aaron Randalll fas a graet site how to easily install Samba step by step.
