got around to setting up a gigabit  network. From Pc to Pc about 48MB/s , can read from the pogo (samba2) about 25MB/s . Write speeds (samba2) about 10MB/s. When using the drive software maybe 8MB/s.

is this normal?

Which model of Pogoplug?

What kind of disk are you trying to write to? Flash, USB HDD?

What method are you using to get samba on there?

Has your samba been optimized?

pink pogo writing to either flash or USB HDD - not much difference in performance

used this method for Samba http://www.ctrlaltdeleted.com/?p=3

optimize Samba? Don't know what that is.

How about this? What is the filesystem on the target device? The best I've been able to get, with lots of streamlining is ~ 25MB/s write.

And unfortunately, Pink means nothing these days ;)

What formatting would you suggest for faster speeds?

Thanks
