Anyone know if the new Pogoplug 4 will support multiple, simultaneous mounts on separate PC's?

I have an old one that doesn't, and it is very frustrating. If my wife is logged on at home, I can't mount the drive at the same time while I'm travelling.

Thanks,

Greg

Have you tried sharing the drive with your wife and setting up a separate account for the share. I have 3 or 4 people set up this way and we can all mount and access the drive at the same time.

Yes. Problem is, only one computer can have the drive "mounted" (showing as a physical drive) at a time. I have separate user accounts, but the drive can't be mounted on more than one computer at a time. Also, for a computer with multiple user accounts, the drive can only be mounted to one active account at a time.

I'm curious if this is fixed in the newer device.

Thanks for the reply.

@mustangame2 - You might want to try contacting support@pogoplug.com because I'm pretty sure that's not the norm. I would imagine that the ability to mount on multiple machines would be a firmware-level issue, not the hardware itself. What firmware version is your Pogoplug running? I have my drives mounted on 2 machines almost all day, every day...sometimes more...and they're all using the same account/email address (using Pogoplug v2 and S4).

Could be a bandwidth issue. Do you have the same problem when you are both local? If so then create different accounts... If not your problem is probalbly bandwidth! Pogo is very Pokey when your tethering (or wifi hotspoting)even the with best 3/4G cell phone service, you can usually do better on the wifi at McD's!
