I use the drives as a central place to store and access all of my files; so regardless of the machine/device I'm on, everything looks the same. I'm not a big fan of the software that makes the files on your computer remotely accessible as I think that adds a ton of confusion (as you said with the copies of copies of copies). Just have everything in one spot and make sure it's backed up (I use the built in active sync to back up...works pretty well).

I have 4 computers with files, I have 2 phones with files, and I have a tablet with files. I have over 2T of files and they are all over the place. I bought this thinking I could get organized and ending up with copies of copies of copies and no idea how to find anything.
Then I have the problem of moving stuff takes forever.
What is the best solution? DO I get a new 2T drive and move files to it and organize them or is there a less costly but time effective solution?
If you want to move stuff around and organize between different drives you will do best to unpogoplug them and plug them in directly to your pc while doiing this. If the files are on the same drive you can use the web interface to instantly move things. (If you use the "P" drive letter it downloads to your computer and uploads to the new location simultaneously ..for some stupid reason.. even when the file is on the same drive and a simple reference change in then directory is all that is needed.)
Hi barneysburgers,
Just wanted to clear something up. If you're on the same local network as Pogoplug and you move a file or folder to another location on the same drive or partition, Pogoplug is designed to 'move' the file locally and fast using the 'P' drive, just like the WebUI and as you expect.
However, a 'move' to a different drive or partition on the same drive does take longer. Then it does make more sense to use the WebUI to 'move' or Backup the contents of a folder from drive to drive.
Hope this makes sense,
