For the time being you should run both pieces of software for the backup and remote access features you want.

We are working integrating features from Remote Access Software into Pogoplug Uploader, removing inconsistencies you are experiencing now.

I do not like that I have to run two pieces of software to sync and have access to my PogoPlug drives. Also, the uploader software doesn't seem to work very well. Can we have the old way of sync back? (The one where you can specify everything through the web interface.) It seemed to work pretty well.

Please sit tight, our software suites will be integrated in the next 10-14 days.

For the time being, backup management from computer to Pogoplug device will remain in the desktop software.

We've already forwarded the request to continue to manage backups in the Web UI.

In the meantime, though not formerly tested, some users report success using http://goflexnet.pogoplug.com to manage backups through the Web UI.

Although I'm thankful that Pogoplug Browser has finally been updated to also incorporate the original Pogoplug software, so that two different Pogoplug programs don't have to be running at the same time, Pogoplug Browser is still VERY poor software.

If it weren't for goflexnet.pogoplug.com , I would NOT be using Pogoplug AND I'd make sure to tell everybody how Pogoplug ruined my.pogoplug.com and made Pogoplug virtually useless.

However, as long a goflexnet.pogoplug.com is still available, I'll refrain from doing that.

But until Pogoplug Browser is improved AND my.pogoplug.com is changed to provide the same functionality as goflexnet.pogoplug.com , there is no way I can recommend Pogoplug to others.

Yes, Seagate seems smart enough not to change what isn't broken.

There no longer seems to be a way on Pogoplug to backup one pogoplug drive to another. I have both the old version of the pogoplug desktop software (the pink icon) and the new (with the blue icon - I believe they now call that "pogoplug uploader") but not both on the same computer and I'm too afraid to try to put the new software on the ONE computer I have left with the old software. This is because the new software doesn't actually do anything. It just sits there and frustrates the user beyond comprehension. And, if you dare to use the old software to try to engage an active copy, the screen greys out, and you can't do anything but exit pogoplug and restart the program again. Pogoplug's "help" feature is laughable to say the least.

This is an incredibly frustrating thing because I NEED my backup to work.

Active copy is a really elementary way to back up in the first place, and I have NO idea why pogoplug would take it away. Frankly, it was why we bought the drives. Additionally, they seem to want their customers to move to the cloud "sync-ing." I SERIOUSLY have my doubts that this would work either as I have not been able to get it to go, and you have to pay for it if you want to backup more than 2 pictures.

Shame on pogoplug for changing things to move you to having to pay for their services. Go to the seagate website and you can still active copy from there (although who knows for how much longer).

This new software has been nothing but an exercise in frustration for me, and I have wasted HOURS trying to figure this out. So, so angry.
