Hello,

I have looked over most of the threads that delt with permission issues.

My problem differs between what others are saying.  I'm trying to copy files from Finder (OS X 10.7.2) to either my "Old Pro" drive or "Files Shared With Me".  It askes me for my administrative name and password.  I enter that info in, and then I get an error that says I don't have permission to copy this file.

What am I doing wrong?  I have read & write permissions on these files.

Hi searay345

This is Christopher, head of Customer Outreach here at Pogoplug.

First of all you can see this symptom when copying to the root of Files Shared With Me because this is not actually a drive. Files Shared With Me is a virtual container with shares sent from other Pogoplug users - these shares must have 'Editor' permissions associated with them in order for your to upload files to these shares. Make sure the person who sent you these shares setup permissions properly.

In the case of copying to 'Old Pro' you likely have a different problem. With the current description, we can't determine what changed, please try the following:

1) Safely eject your drives using my.pogoplug.com

2) Unplug and plug in power to your Pogoplug

3) Try a cut and paste copy (i/o drag and drop) to your 'Old Pro's' attached drive(s)

If this fails, please contact Support so we can help you out.

Kind Regards,

Christopher Louie

on behalf of the Pogoplug team

Thanks for the follow up Christopher.

Thank you for explaining the Files Shared With Me folder.

And I figured out what was wrong with transferring files from Old Pro to New Pro and vice versa. I didn't have everything setup properly in system preferences.

Thanks again!

My pleasure.

Glad to hear you are up and running.

Christopher
