I have had my pogoplug for quite some time and am fully aware of it's quirky nature. I always eject the attached harddrive and just to be on the safe side I always run microsoft's error check. This unfortunately is not working for me. Ever since I recently upgradeed the software and changes have been made to the website my hard drive has dissappeared. It see's my computer as a drive and the new 5g storage, but my harddrive has dissappeared and I cannot figure out how to make it reappear. I have sent in a ticket to spoort but have heard nothing back. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you fix it?

I am having the same problems now. Both of our PogoPlugs are unreachable on the website, through the Mac software, and via the iPad software. I wonder if another software change has broken them.

I unplugged and restarted my pogoplug and it seems to be working now.

What is the URL of the pogoplug.com site for buffalo drives?

The site "my.pogoplug.com" is missing some features (they broke it) like listing shares by e-mail if you have more than a small number of e-mail addresses with access to different directories. I use goflexnet.pogoplug.com for my access, it works, and it allows public embed shares so I can host photos for html that I create on my ebay auctions.

The new my.pogoplug.com site provides a "get link" feature which is almost useless for much of anything.

So aside from goflexnet.pogoplug.com, anyone know of the other approaches to pogoplug's website that I can test to see which ones work, and which ones they've managed to break with their "improvements"

Thanks

Having the same issue of disappearing HD since the new free 5G Cloud drive was added to my Pogoplug software. Unplugging & restarting with green light on did not solve the problem. It just cannot see my Pogoplug device anymore.

November 25, 2011 2:28 PM

Same is happening to me! I am not happy. Maybe go to Tonido?

November 25, 2011 2:33 PM

Exact same problem here. Went to grab some stuff off of my Pogo this afternoon, and the device is no longer seen by the website, Pogoplug Drive (Win7), or the iPhone app. Tried the usual suspects -- powering off the Plug and the drives, powering off the router -- but no change. The Plug's light is green and I see network activity taking place.

Everything was working fine as of last night (11/24/11)

EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE!! I'm guessing the new "cloud" feature has somehow disabled the drive recognition. I tried all the usual procedures unplugging restarting my network tried a new drive etc etc etc and nothing!

THIS IS BS!!! I paid for a device to help me not to give me hours of fustration!!

I was even trying to upload to the "cloud" and keep getting failure issues doesnt copy all the files loses connectivity etc NOT GOOD!!

Is anybody from Cloud Engines responding to these issues? I need my drives back. Not even the Cloudstor NAS is working.

This is BS!! To pull this stunt during the Thanksgiving weekend when many people are away from their homes is completely unacceptable. There was absolutely no notice given, and I am 600 miles from home and the solution is to power cycle my Pogoplug?! Completely unacceptable! Perhaps they should consider adding a remote way to reboot the Pogoplug to the web interface instead of trying to jump on the "cloud" bandwagon like every other service.

Cloud Engines is clearly not thinking of themselves as a company that people depend on, so maybe we should stop depending on them and their products. I've had my Pogoplug for a year and a half; and after this stunt, I'm ready to throw it in the trash. The company owes every single one of their users an apology and they need to develop a notification system for scheduled downtime now!!

Cloud Computing is getting the reputation of being completely unreliable. They need beta testers who know what they're doing and actually use the features.

Unplug the power and restart. Works now. Probably some software update that needed a restart. But yes sucks for those who are not able to physically restart their devices.

I'm having the same issue and I'm changing mails with support but generally they are saying the problem is in my hdd. Please run scandisk, unplug, then plug in hdd to Pogoplug etc...

My Pogoplug was working great till 3.2.3 version. I was able to turn off device and turn it on later and I was able to see my disk.

Now I know from support I should unplug my disk and I should start Pogoplug without the hdd plugged in. It starts, if the front LED is green I can plugin my disk.

But yesterday my Pogoplug was on 24/7 and my disk just disappeared. I was away, I couldn't restart device manually.

I was quite happy from my Pogoplug. It was working good (not great, good) but stable. In my opinion now it's not stable.

I've got also problem with uploading do Pogoplug Cloud files. I can't upload for example my albums at one time - it disconnects me (server is reseting connection - not my internet provider).

Maybe if you mail support with your problem they were able to do something, not just pasting me answers with text to search for errors on my hdd.

I am having the same exact issue. I have one pogoplug in my primary house and one in my vacation home. I sync files for backup purposes to my vacation home. I would say about 2 weeks ago I lost the drive at my vacation home w/ "No Drives Attached" message - didn't think much of it at the time. I had thought the internet connection was down and would address when I was back at my vacation house over Thanksgiving. A few days ago I lost the drive at my primary house -- "No Drives Attached" - but have not had a chance to troubleshoot the issue. I am now at my vacation house and I have shutdown the pogoplug several times and the drive and even tried unregistering and re-registering and I am still getting "No Drives Attached".

WTF -- POGOPLUG needs to respond to these issues. Both of my drives can not be seen by both Pogoplugs. I believe this all started with the Cloud upgrade, but I do not have exact dates.

We need a reponse from POGOPLUG to address the issue immediately. I am more than willing to help test, but POGOPLUG needs to respond.

Write an email to support. Maybe if there will be more tickets they'll do something with it. At the momoent they are saying this is my drive problem.

I can't agree with that. And just like you said. This should be stable. If I'm away I'm not able to turn off my Pogoplug, uplug my drive, check for errors, run Pogoplug without drive to see green LED and then plug in disk.

In my opinion Pogoplug should be able to check for disk errors and boot with connected drive to it.

If I'm away, what about power problem. Device will restart but I couldn't be able to see my data because device will not run properly. They told me Pogoplug should be 24/7 on.

I have opened a support ticket for "No Drives Attached" after Cloud update and requested that Pogoplug provide support in the Forum.

I would suggest that everyone that has this issue open a support ticket so they have an understanding of volume of users with this issue.

I have been playing with Tonido, since yesterday. My Pogoplug drives are back, but I am not happy with the lack of communication from Cloud Engines.

November 26, 2011 11:10 AM

Update - 1 Pogoplug is working now!

In the last hour, I did two things. 1) Opened a support ticket w/ Cloud Engines and unplugged the PogoPlug for about 1 hour before turning it back on.

When I turned PogoPlug on and then turned on drive after green light on Pogoplug I noticed the drive seemed to be indexing / activity. After drive activity was complete, then the drive now appears and I can access it.

Also, the PogoPlug Cloud appears in my list of devices that did not appear before when I shutdown and reset.

The only change that I did was leave the Pogoplug turned off for an hour instead of a minute or two.

In addition, PogoPlug support responded to me today that they were not able to access either of my PogoPlugs -- although I expect when they tried to access the one I fixed, it was most likely off.

I am not in the same physical location as the second PogoPlug so I will not be able to test shutting it off for an hour to see if the drives come back to Monday.

Try shutting off for an hour and see if the drives come back. I will let you know what support says. I asked them if they made any changes to my account. I am wondering why the PogoPlug Cloud just appeared that wasn't there before.

November 27, 2011 3:30 PM

Ditto to all the above.
Have submitted a support ticket.
I'm getting tired of having spent so much $ and now spend so much time managing the divices and software instead of using it to protect my systems data and have access when I'm away.
Anybody tried competitive products you are willing to tell me about?

I'm looking for alternatives that I can count on.

November 27, 2011 3:38 PM

It breaks my heart that the Pogoplug is not really living to is full potential. lack of Communication from Cloud Engines is really disappointing. I have been playing with Tonido since this situation with the Drives. is not as elegant as Pogoplug, but works locally on the LAN and on the web. I even disconnected connectivity to the web and still worked. I ordered a second Pogoplug but right now I am having regrets.

November 27, 2011 7:14 PM

Update - 2 Pogoplugs are working

This evening I returned to my primary home where my second Pogoplug (Pink) is located. As I did early today at my vacation home w/ Pogoplug (Black), I left the Pogoplug (Pink) unplugged for an hour. When I plugged it back in and got the green light, I turned the hard drive on and it started indexing / activity. After a few minutes the drive now appears and I can access it.

So my resolution for "No Hard Drive Attached" was to unplug the Pogoplug for an hour before turning it back on. Leaving the Pogoplug unplugged for a minute or two did not seem to be enough time.

For the record, PogoPlug (Pink) at my primary home has been running 24x7 for over a year without any issue. It is tucked out of site in the basement and I have not seen it in over a year. We even had several power outages over that time and it has always recovered without any intervention on my part. I have been uploading Photo's and Video's over the home network, used it to view remotely via both PC web browser and IPhone. I even stream MP3s to my IPHONE when going to work. I have been very pleased overall.

PogoPlug (Black) was purchased over the last month to install at my vacation home to backup PogoPlug (Pink). It was installed and running for 2 weeks before "No Hard Drive Attached" appeared. The problem seemed to occur as part of the roll-out of the Cloud interface.

When I emailed support on Saturday they got back to me within an hour. Whatever state both Pogoplugs where in, support was not able to see them to run diagnostic and was not able to help. So it would seem even if it did have a feature to perform a remote reboot, in this situation it may have not help. It require a physical unplug the unit and leave it off for an hour before turning it back on.

I hope my long email helps others with the same issue.

This latest update to POGOPLUG has removed some of it's most useful features. Look into "BDrive" or "Tonido" to maintain complete control over all aspects of your personal cloud. BDrive will even allow uploads directly from my smartphone.

November 27, 2011 10:03 PM

Thanks for all the advice.
As of now nothing has helped, but tech support has responded to my trouble report. Hope they have a solution since I need something to work to protect the data at work and my personal stuff.
I am looking into both BDrive and Tonido since my needs are mission critical.

November 27, 2011 10:23 PM

Still haven't heard from tech support.
I decided to register my device as if it had never been on Pogoplug, it's a BIZ unit.
Surprize!!! It came up and all the drives are present, not only that but all my backup links are restored!
I don't know why that worked, especially that the backups re-appeared since they seem to disappear everytime there is an update to the device, but for now I am back in business.
Thanks for all the help.

Support told me that I needed to power cycle my Pogoplug...hard to do that from 1200 miles away though. I've begun looking at alternative products.
