I currently just purchased the pogoplug mobile, it arrived yesterday. I am already a pogoplug pro subscriber, I was using my desktop as the supporting device to my large hard drive. I have a Seagate Desktop 3TB Drive with only about 500GB used. If I plug the drive into a laptop or the desktop, all items are accessable and no problems. Following the directions I have plugged the drive into the pogoplug and in the pogoplug desktop it recognizes the drive "says Seagate Desktop and shows how much of the drive is used" but it says that the drive is not available. Reading up on this error says that the pogoplug is indexing the files and I understand this may take awhile especially with a 3TB Drive. I started about 8:00PM last night and let it run. This morning it was still not available. Does the mobile not support Seagate Desktop Drives, not support 3TB Drives, or do I need to be more patient and give it more time? I was hoping that this was going to be an easy project because I do not have hours to spend on this. But it seems lately nothing is easy. I wish everything (not just pogoplug) would just work as advertised. very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After almost a month of working with the pogoplug support staff trying everything they suggested and many times they just suggested the same procedure over and over again. I was able to fix it on my own. The drive was originally formatted in NFTS. Using four different external drives, I backed up the information on the drive, then used a macbook to format into HFS+. (this took 3+ days just to format!!!) Patience prevailed and the 3TB Seagate Desktop in HFS+ format is working great with the mobile and I am happy with the product and the service. However I am highly dissapointed in the support.

Was this drive connected via USB or through the SATA/USM port? I am having a hell of a time getting my drive to work via SATA/USM. Ready to ditch this Pogo if I can't get it to recognize my drive.

I find it amazing that it would take a MBP 3+ days to format a 3TB drive, when I can do the same feat with a hacked pogoplug in less than an hour.

The Mobile does not have the SATA/USM port, AFAIK.

utp216, I assume this is on a V4, and you are using a Seagate GoFlex portable? If so, what is the size & filesystem?

I am using the Mobile v4. It has the SATA/USM port under the top cover along with a third USB port.

My drive is a Seagate GoFlex 500GB formatted NTFS.

Works fine (but slow) connected USB. Works zero connected to other port.

Tech support is trying to help out now.

It's not a Mobile V4, its a V4, that happens to be based on the same board/case as the Mobile.

Glad to hear it's at least working over USB, I can't grasp why it wouldn't work over the USM port.
