They both will do what you list.
The requirements that you mention like streaming media is where things can get confusing. Basically you can put any media on your HD attached to your Pogplug. Where it gets confusing is what you use to consume (play) that media.
A PC can play just about anything you throw at it but the Idevice can't.
So if you put a PC compatible video on your Pogoplug it may not be an Idevice compatible video.
The Pogoplug Browser/Uploader can help you convert files for the Idevice but it has to reduce the resolution which may not what you want it to do if viewed via a PC.
Clear as mud huh? :)
To boil it down. If you get the classic (V2 or V3) it should do all you want.

Hey everyone -
I want to pull the trigger on one of these but I'm not sure which one.
The price of the classic and the fact that I can hook several hard drives up to it makes me like that but the mobile talks alot about streaming media, etc.
Here's what I need the device to do:
#1 be accessed by me and mabe one or two other people
#2 to stream media including photos, videos, mp3 files, etc
#3 ability to access word, text files, pdfs, graphic files
That's all I can think of now.
Which one should I get and why?
