Hi there,

Can anyone help me? I am trying to activate Active Copy to automatically back up certain files from my laptop (Mac, OSX 10.7.2) to my Pogoplug enabled wireless external hard drive.

I have followed all the steps: enabled remote access to the relevant files on my computer, and have then followed the link from the Active Copy section of my Pogoplug preferences to the webpage.

However, the problem is that my computer is not listed as one of the sources from which I can schedule an active copy. Conversely, it is listed as an option for a destination file.

Can anyone help me with this or even suggest any working third party software for scheduled backups through Pogoplug?

Cheers.

Same here. Frustrating as I was sure it was working on the last version (where the web interface said Sync rather than Backup)...

I guess the question is whether it is an error or simply not coded to run this way. Anyone know?

So, when using Pogoplug with Mac: am I right in understanding that -

- we cannot use Active Copy to perform scheduled backups of certain files.

- we cannot use Time Machine

- we cannot use third-party backup software (I'll admit the only one I tried was Carbon Copy Cloner which didn't work with Pogoplug either.

Any ideas? There must be a solution...

I think the answer to all three of those is currently "yes", sadly... Annoying as I'd LOVE to use Pogoplug with Time Machine in particular. Ironically that's my gripe with Active Copy; I am only trying to use it because I cannot run backups directly to the Pogoplug.

Agree though, there must be some kind of solution. Guessing it might be possible using rsync and some convoluted SSH script method, but that's far from ideal...
