How do family and friends access my stuff in the "Cloud"?

Easy. Go to my.pogoplug.com. The cloud will be listed in the left panel. Go to the folder you want to share and click on 'collaborate'. The rest is self explanatory. Hope this helps

Thanks Laundromat... Does the permission last until I remove the permission or does it automatically expire after x number of days? And if it automatically expires how many days will the permission last?

Well, BuffaloKC...now I am also confused. There used to be a check box where you could opt for 'user has to enter a password to access the share'. I can no longer find this check box. After this the user (the person you gave access to a folder or drive, would have unlimited access unless you removed that user from the share)

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SHED A LIGHT ON THIS ONE!
Where has the check box gone which forced shared users to enter a password to access their share.

Agree... I miss the require password to view feature...
Also looks like the new sharing feature does not work. I tried sharing a video and it would not play. To make sure it wasnt something I was doing, I tried the pogoplug demo video http://ppl.ug/oKpJGs1VGBY/ and that didnt work either...

It appears that if you want password protection, you need to 'collaborate' a folder... waiting to hear from support.

I have also been going round and round with looking for the password option that used to be there. The old folders I have shared still have the password parameters for access but I can't set up new shares with a password. Why?!?

I can't find the "collaborate" a folder either. Although the folders I have shared in the past are still password protected, I see no option to password protect a new folder share. The person I am trying to share full privelidges with is unable to create an account too. What a mess and very difficult to get answers and help from My Cloudstor Pogoplug too.

tphank, did you ever hear from support? I have documents that I need to be able to share with my son and he can't get logged on. He's tried to set up an account and it wouldn't work. I told him to e-mail support and let them know he was having problems. That was over 10 days ago now and he's had no response. This is VERY disappointing. I thought using my cloudstor would be a good thing. Unfortunately it has worked a couple times for different shares but I wouldn't recommend the system to anyone. Not without support. It seems there is support!

I just tried to share several things with family members and they can not get in to view or download them. Just based on this thread it has been broke for about a month and they haven't done anything about it. Seems like they were giving away extra storage with C|NET about a month ago. Guess you can give a lot away if it doesn't really exist.

i watched one of the youtube videos by pogoplug that shows that you can share a file then remove that permission from that person if you no longer want them to be able to view it, also i did not see the access type(view/download or wright). i ordered the pogoplug unit, with the intent of sharing things and having the right to remove that privilege with whom i want, if this is the case i might just send the unit back before i even get to open the box.
what else have they changed and not updated the FAQ's and their youtube videos

need to add a little info i just found, i found i am able to stop sharing but, if i share the same file with 5 people i can't remove just a singe person i will have to unshare from ALL then re send to the others i did not want to remove, sorry to much work, please fix Pogoplug
