Seems to be working fine, all screens now rotate, also the sharing function has been revamped.
seems to be working okay on my HTC Droid Incredible on Gingerbread 2.3.4.
Has this new version solved or broke anything for anyone else?
Is it as much of a battery hog as people are saying on the Android Market?

Hi JJ,
Android's auto-upload feature does run in the background so battery usage is a bit higher. Also, video is encoded before uploading your original and web optimized video to your Pogoplug Cloud, Pogoplug device or Pogoplug Software.
Hope ths makes sense,
Christopher
Makes sense. Thanks! Chris, do you know if there's an option within the app to just upload pictures and not videos automatically? I would imagine that all that transcoding would really run down a battery.
Hi Chris... great update.. At last it recognises compilation albums as one album entity and ot 15-20 separate items.
Out of interest, does anyone know if on the android app it is possible to retain the list of files from the pogoplayer. On my wife's Ipod, once you run through the list of albums on the hdd, it holds that information.
On the android app, it seems you have to download the info every time you access the pogo.
Cheers

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what Chris said, but I read that as the phone doing work prior to uploading a video to a Pogoplug...which, I would imagine, uses up quite a bit of battery. No?

Hi JJ and mad999,
When the Android or iOS app detects Pogoplug Cloud, Pogoplug Mobile or Pogoplug and Pogoplug Biz (with firmware version 3.x or greater), the auto upload feature transcodes video before uploading the original and encoded version.

Hi JJ,
No problem.
And to be absolutely precise, the upload feature isn't even available on Android or iOS devices unless Pogoplug Cloud, Pogoplug Mobile and Pogoplug's with firmware 3.x or greater are detected.
Christopher
I had to - reluctantly - remove the Pogoplug app from my Android phone because it was such a battery hog. It would really be a good idea support manual user-initiated sync, instead of doing it in the background all the time. Any chance of that? Please?!
@DougF - Here's an .apk for an older version of the Android app if you want it. I made a copy of it a while back and kept it on my Pogoplug because I had a feeling I may want to revert to it at some point.
