Are you talking about dragging and dropping files to your Pogoplug drive when it is mounted with the drive software? Are you on Windows or Mac? What happens when you try to drag the file?

Yes if I open the Desktop Browser software I can drag and drop any file except videos. If I drag a video I get an immediate error. I can upload videos via the web site just fine.

You have to differentiate between the desktop browser and the Pogoplug drive.

and well...just to add me to the problem, with the desktop browner i cannot add videos, it says error.

Join the group! PP had broken something major causing loss of data. Tons of reports yet they say they can't reproduce it.

All it takes is one of them just calling one of us and I can prove it's reproducible. Hell, I'll even open up my VNC port on my router and they can sign on to my fricken MAC themselves to look around.

But, with all these people complaining no one seems to have any lights on to say. "HEY, Why don't we see if we can get on the phone with one of these guys that are having problems?"

HELLO???? Maybe they need their own customized SIRI?

@Gerardo and Jeremya,

A few questions regarding errors dragging and dropping videos via Pogoplug Browser:

- What is the error you get?
- What kind of movie files are your dragging and dropping? (e.g. mp4, avi, etc.)
- What kind of device is the Pogoplug that you are importing to? (Pogoplug Mobile, Pogoplug Pro, etc.)

Thanks
-Nick

For me it just says "Error!"
MP4's that I've encoded, that I downloaded from twit.tv, and some other random videos I have on my laptop.
The PogoPlug v2

I opened a ticket 10 days ago: #48924 Their final suggestion was to change my router settings, but I have Uverse and they've dumbed down the setting so much I wasn't even sure where to start.

I can also upload videos via my.pogoplug.com just fine. Except that the first thing it says is "Failed", but if I wait a few seconds it starts uploading just fine.

any solution yet?

I also cannot drag & drop videos into the browser software. I have tried various filetypes & each time I get a warning that says "upload finished. (error encountered)".

I am only able to upload successfully using the web interface.

a) there is a new version of the software -- on the pogoplug.com, you can try that
b) contact support@pogoplug.com with the logs (they can help you on how to collect them)

I have been experiencing a similar issue with m4v files. Using the "Pogoplug uploader" application m4v's just choke and stall the upload. I am able to upload m4v files by dragging to the desktop HD image or via the web interface.

I have managed to upload one m4v which uploaded without issue using the uploader. It seems the issue is related to the "transcoding" performed by the "Pogoplug uploader" on some of these. This is what my stalled state looks like.

The dialog tells me that it is uploading, but nothing happens. It is stalled. Just dragging to the desktop image of the HD is working better for me.

OK!

I guess I am just starting the climb on the Pogoplug learning curve. What this lesson taught me was, inorder for the m4v to be "streamable" via a public link or shared email, it has to be transcoded. However streaming from within the Mobile app, on an iPhone, or the web interface, transcoding is not required.

The "stalled" state I described above seems to have been related to the USB 2.0 HD and not making the upload on my computer's HD or associated HD.

I tried another m4v upload using the "Pogoplug uploader" and did my best to be patient, and the transcoding & upload was eventully completed successfully.

What I have taken from this is, if all I want to do is stream to my iPhone, or iPad I can just drag the file to the desltop window of the HD attached to my series 4 Pogoplug, or use the web interface without "transcoding". If I intend to share via public url, or email I need to complete "transcoding".

I am going to add a SATA HD in the next day or so, and I hope that will improve some of this perfomance.
