The update to the Android Pogoplug 4.0.7.17 seems to have become available on October 11, 2011.  It seems to get to the folders on my plug somewhat quicker than desktop application access from windows.  It might even give the online a run for its money.

The BIGGEST and BEST improvement was replacing the off-color redish-pink "splash" screen with something a little more interesting and playful.

Still a problem is being able to stop/turn-off music.  It can not be all that complicated to add a button to "kill" music.  Presently, the only ways I have found to stop the music when I want to watch a video or have some silent peace-and-quiet is to go back to force the App to stop in one of several ways (sign-out, force-stop, ... (?)).  This is not acceptable.

For now, other than that, this update has not "crashed" yet and a "forced stop" has not happened out of the clear blue.

Playing with 4.0.7.17, I find that it does not seem to like something about movies (.mov, .mp4, .wmv) from the "Cinema" section.  This means that they appear.  They do not play for some reason.  It is a little difficult determining what is and what is not transcoded since the alert, "Not optimized for mobile viewing" and the choices "Optimize now," "Play original," and "Cancel" is given for every movie that does not give the alert "Sorry" The application Pogoplug (process com.pogoplug.android) has stopped unexpectedly.  Please try again."  I just keep sending the reports.

This unacceptable behavior started sorta slowly and now is really annoying.

Also, a week or two ago, I could go to the "My Drives" section and I could play any .avi, .mp4, or .wmv movie.  This is no longer true.  Most .mov and many .mp4 will no longer play and the Pogoplug app does a "Force Close."

Surprisingly, I can play a few of the .wmv movie files that I have available.

This issue with playing movies just keeps getting worse ...

There does seem to be a correlation to the "Not optimized for mobile viewing" alert and the ability to play the movie.  If this alert appears for the selected movie whether .avi, .mov, or .wmv AND the "Play original" choice is selected then the movie can be watched.

Prior to whatever-has-changed if I went to the "My Drives" choice and went to the folder with the movies I could watch any of the movies using any browser that I have (Default, FireFox, etc.).  Now it is not the case.
