I recently installed the new version of PC software.  It shows up as Device v 3.1.0, UI v 3.1.2 and Service v 3.2.1.  Now I am seeing some things that I am unfamilier with.

On my desktop I now have 2 icons that I never had before.  I tried putting them in the recycle bin but they will not go.  One says it is .cedata and the other is .ceid.  Also, in settings, network connections I now have a pogoplug device showing up.

What is this all about?  I did not have this behavior with the previous version of this software.  Further to this, when I hover over the network icon in the system tray it shows 2 different networks.

1.  The 1st is the wireless signal from my router.  This is normal and expected.

2.  The 2nd is "Unidentified network".  When I click on the Unidentified network, it shows up as a private network, with local access only, with a connection name of Pogpplug.  When I click the View Status, it shows a connection speed of 10 Mbps. IPv4 as Local.  When I click on details the description is XCETAPO Adapter.

Is there an explaination of all of this someplace?

Same with me I saw this as windows was installing it. Windows prompted me me to confirm if I wanted to install that one. I'm guessing it's the thing that lets PP communicate. When I moved form win-xp to win7, Before moving to 3.0 from 2.5.5, I would get 2 networks, mine and one classified as unidentified. I didn't know what it was till I disconnected PP and it went away. So, I think that was always there. It was for me. I do find that I lose my drives and have to reload. Each time I reload the Drive letter increments. However, I did have to diable my firewall and antivirus software to get it to install that adapter.

This happened to me too, but I also had a problem show up.

I prefer to have my drives show up and act like normal Windows file folders/drives. This was enabled and working fine, even when I was on the road; some time over the last two weeks, the two drives I had connected via a Seagate GoFlex Net device (plugged directly into my internet router) disappeared. Now the only way I can access my files, even from home, is via the pogoplug web access.

In the preferences on the "Drive" tab, I have tried to disable then re-enable the "Enable Pogoplug drives" option, but still no joy. Everything seems to be OK on my McAfee firewall settings too.

The only thing that has changed is the newer version of Pogoplug...and that new "internet" connection.
