so I would assume here since the last issuance of any news from Cloud is back in October of last year that this issue is no longer an issue and will not be worked on. Oh well..so much for using it on a BB. So long and thanks for all the fish.
We (me) need blackberry support! So I submitted this to Tech Support. Maybe it will do some good?
1. I noticed that there is no longer a blackberry app - why?
2. Pogoplugged site has comments about the Blackberry support being terminated - is this true?
Here is the deal. I have a lot of customers/clients that use the Blackberry in the US and outside the US. I got wind of the lack of support when one of our customers/clients called and said the BlackBerry app was no longer available at the Blackberry store. They had just upgraded to the 9930 which is BBOS7.
My next question is are you also going to pull support for Android devices?
Here is the reasoning behind this inquiry. The Pogoplug did a lot of things for every body in the market making it the provider that could be used anywhere. If you are going to just focus on Apple products in the wireless market, then be up front and honest with us so we can start looking at and testing other products.
We (me) will never invest in the exhorbitant-priced Apple products since they operate in a proprietary environment. Apple products also lack the understanding and insight that the cloud is very overrated and not accessible in a lot of places unless one wishes to spend an excessive amount for a misrepresented-"unlimited" and overpriced-data-package that may also be inaccessable. 3G and 4G are not pervasive as many of the wireless companies might want the customer believe. If one lives in a large metropolitian city, and never leaves, then there is a chance that there is more than a Wi-Fi connection available. That being written, I recently learned, from personal experience, that Wi-Fi coverage is also often not available in many places in the trip recently taken across the midWest to the East (BTW, the cities visited were not all that small).
So far, my old REALLY-unlimited data plan attached to my ancient 2007 cell phone works (on 1x, 2x, 3x, but not on 4x) better than any Apple product UNLESS the wireless company has dumb'd-down towers in the local area which they do unless they receive a lot of complaints. The best tool, by far, is the WhisperNet connection available to Amazon.com's Kindle 3G users. It is free and it works here, Europe, and other places where the Apple's only connection is, if it will work, with the local Wi-Fi and often for a fee.
So, it would be nice if the Cloud company would tell us what will and will not be supported. Or, is this going to be one of those games that will be played like being able to connect and use printers (after buying three printers I must sadily say that I still do not have a printer connected that works on any of the Pogoplugs we have and the Pogo folks will only say -- if it is HP it will work -- which is not true here)?
Update -- I did not get this pasted into the Thread before I hit Submit ...

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Pogoplug Support.
Sorry for any inconvenience. We are working on the next update of the Blackberry app that will fix this issue. There will be an announcement on the forums when the new app is available.
Regarding your additional question, allow me to further inquire and report back.
Kind Regards,

Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
I would separate my answer to 2 parts:
1. Blackberry - You are correct. At this time we are aware of many issues with the Blackberry App and we are working on creating a new update that should resolve this, however unfortunately I don't have time line on this.
2. Android - As you probably saw, we released about 2 month ago a new Android App. This app is much more stable then the previous one and we constantly working on adding all the missing features to this App (such as share, download and many more).
I can assure you that we are continuing to support the Android users as well as the Apple user and have no plans to stop supporting.
I hope this information helps.
Best regards,
Shimi
