I experience exactly the same problem. The added second PC stays offline, however i can access the Pogoplug-drives from the P-drive of that PC or the webinterface. We need urgently an expert opinion.

I recently purchased a PogoPlug Pro and I'm still trying to figure out how it works...the latest question that I have (and have been unable to find addressed elsewhere, which probably means I'm not looking in the right place), concerns connecting a laptop to the PogoPlug. I have a desktop running Windows XP, the PogoPlug is attached to my router, an older harder drive is attached to the PogoPlug, and things seem to be working correctly. I can access the folders I want on the drive attached to the PogoPlug, as well as the "shared" folders on my desktop, through the web from my office computer.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to make this work with my laptop, so I loaded the software onto it and things seemed to go correctly. The desktop recognizes the laptop is in the system, but it continually shows it as offline. The laptop is able to access the shared folders on the PogoPlugged hard drive, as well as the desktop, even though the laptop itself shows up as offline. It is the same situation whether I go through the web or directly thorugh the computers themselves (My computer\P: drive). It doesn't make sense to me that I wouldn't be able to access the information from one computer (laptop) from another computer (desktop) on the same PogoPlug setup...or am I missing something obvious? So far it's a handy item even without the laptop drives being accessible, but I'd either like to get some help figuring out the laptop connection issue...or an explanation as to why it doesn't work that way....
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...my head is going to get sore if I can't stop banging it soon. :)
Do you have remote access turned on and a folder listed in the preferences > Remote Access tab in the pogoplug software?
You might check that and make sure it is on.
Yes,...everything was turned on and some maps were shared. Installed many times over agin with no results. Then...
I SOLVED the problem with installing the Pogoplugsoftware with an ethernet cable connected to my router instead of trying to install with WiFi-connected. It only seems to appear on Win-Xp machines.
I double checked the remote access piece and there are 4 folders listed in the preferences. I will try the install with an ethernet cable rather than Wi-Fi...my desktop is XP, but the laptop is Windows 7.
