I'm having the same problem suddenly today. I have seen it not show up before, but performing 'reload drives' usually resolves this, but not today. the P drive just will not show up. But it's accessible through my.pogoplug.com
Categories: Pogoplug Classic
I've had the pogoplug for about a month. Could access my external drive plugged into it with a browser and as a drive (P) on 'Computer' (Win 7). Today it is not showing up as a drive on 'Computer'. I can still access the drive with a browser. I've tried unplugging the external drive and plugging it back in, unplugging Pogoplug (power) and plugging back in, restarting computer, and all combinations of these three. Any suggestions?
Same problem over here. The pogoplug service starts normally, but mypogoplus drives won't appear in explorer.
I've got extactly the same problem. I can access it through the web but it won't show up as a drive. (Using XP)
I've not changed any settings and I've tried reloading all the software but I can't fix it.
I would be grateful for any ideas.
Ditto. Same issue.
Glad I looked here before spending a lot of time chasing tech support.
I pulled the previous drive attached to my PogoPlug Pro and installed a new one. It's recognized through the browser, but does not show up on my desktop in Mac OS X. My computer tells me the preference pane will not load, and I'm guessing it needs to talk to the mother ship before the drive will show up as attached to my computer.
I'm having the same problem. I've wasted the last 2 hours trying to fix it, so my out of town guests could watch movies in one room and stream music in the other...Pogo really almost killed my night, and they now won't be buying one...thank goodness for PlayOn!
unfortunately I have the same prob over here in the UK.... its killed my only couple of hours I had to work today.... gulp! I had already started blaming my PC configuration before checking here.
I have tried uninstalling the pogoplug software the reinstalling... this has made it work again. It is showing the very same version (3.1.0.70), so not sure what caused the problem in the first place?
Thanks Deeptingler,
I just uninstalled and reinstalled pogoplug software and like you it works again. What the... The P drive is listed under 'Computer' again... I wonder for how long? The last couple of days I've done some more searching on this problem and this doesn't appear to be a new problem. You'd think they would have a fix for this by now or at least know what causes it and have that info posted for all to see. Is anyone from Pogoplug out there?... does anybody from Pogoplug really care?
I tried the uninstall/reinstall route on my Mac. Did not work. Getting the same message that the Preference Pane does not load. Most odd that this error is cross-platform, so something is definitely amiss at HQ.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it cleared the issue up. But that's on a Windows 7 machine.
Reinstalled the Pogoplug software on my Windows 7 machine, and voila, The P drive is available again.
But... Is this the kind of 'problem solving' Pogoplug recommends? Although it works, I can't believe that you have to reinstall the software when the P drive dissapears.
There should be, for example, a registry patch available.
Same issue as of this morning on my end. Using XP at the moment. Will also test on Linux, Win7 and OSX later today...
Cloud Engines, any thoughts on what has caused the sudden issue?
All the above apply to my situation as well. I have one half dozen computers, XP and W7 that all mount and show the "P:" drive without hitch and one that does not. Reinstalled, updated, hard-wired, no fire-walled ... nothin'.
JJ said: Will also test on Linux, Win7 and OSX later today...Everything working as usual in Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows 7. My only problem so far is with XP.
strange, i opened up my windows explorer under XP and all I had was a folder for files shared with me. signed into my.pogoplug.com and it said that I had no drives attached to my unit(i have 3 USB Flash and 1 USB Sata spinning). rebooted the unit and the drives showed up in my.pogoplug website but still not in windows explorer. finally worked when i signed out and signed back into the app.
also, under android app, pogoplug reported status to be offline.gad to logout and log back in.
only thing I;ve updated on my pc is .net 2.0 service packs via windows update. does the pogoplug software use .net 2.0?
Count another one for all this mess. I've got XP and my Cloudstor has the same symptoms.
For a while I was getting the P drive to show up, but whenever I tried to browse the folder, Windows Explorer would crash.
Seems like there might have been a firmware update? The browser UI has changed a bit recently.
And now all of the websites are down, so I can't even get the "drive not attached" message.
Really frustrating.
I have the same problem (windows 7 64 bit) on both computers. Ive restarted the drives and the pogoplug and even reinstalled the pogoplug software and restarted the computers....all to no avail.
I need help!! I emailed Pogoplug and they havent came back with an answer.
somewhere along the line, i think our pogoplug units all lost connection to the my.pogoplug.com site so we need to reboot our pogoplugs and relogin. in the android app, my pogoplug even after rebooting it, came up as offline until a logout and logged back in.
as for the explorer crash, has to be some related software like an windows update. i can only guess that something is blocking the ip6 tunnel from being created?
Update... 2 days ago after uninstalling and reinstalling the software and getting the 'P' drive to be listed again, today it's not listed again!!! Uninstalling and reinstalling every 2 days to get this thing to work is not acceptable.
And still no response or replies from Pogoplug/Cloud Engines!!!
I've had no problems accessing the drive on my.pogoplug.com
Same issue here. Win 7 64-bit. No "P" drive listed in windows explorer as local drive but drives are present on the website. Reinstalled the software (without removing first) and stil;l have same issue.
I logged out then logged back in and things are back in order on my end...not sure how long it will stay this way though...
