The new mobile looks interesting but can multiple users log into the device and stream at the same time?  I am trying to decide if this solution would work best for my wife and I.

Hi mardenhill,

With Pogoplug Mobile, more than one user can login and stream simultaneously from the one device. This would be a great solution for your wife.

Pre-order today http://www.pogoplug.com/mobile/

Thanks for your interest in Pogoplug

thank you, i am looking forward to the release and really think i will be picking one up. another question, how bad does the streaming drain the battery on the iPhone and iPad? is it comparable to other streaming or is it better/worse/same? finally, does the pogoplug mobile keep an external drive like a Western Digital My Book running all the time or will it just wake it up when someone is accessing data?

Hi mardelhill,

Streaming from Pogoplug will be very similar to streaming using services like Netflix or Hulu; you can expect similar batttery life.

All Pogoplug's permit drives to idle when not in use but not all drives 'honor' this.  If you've enabled power saving or sleep on your WD MyBook, we do suggest you disable this when directly attached to your Windows or Mac. Should your drive sleep while attached to Pogoplug, we doubt Pogoplug will wake your drive. Please consult WD Support for instructions how to disable any power saving features.

Thanks again for your interest in Pogoplug
