I have samba, nano and a couple of other app installed to /opt that is mounted to a thrumbdrive on /sda1. The files are only taking about 20MB and I have 97MB free on the flash drive. Does anyone know how to move the /opt mount to te flashdrive? I have tried making a directory called /optfiles and creating a coftlink to it from /opt on the flash and then copying all the files from the usb drive to the /optfiles directory, but I kept getting errors when I ran Samba2.
I have also tried installing Optware and Samba2 from scratch with /opt mounted to /optfiles and get the same erros: something about libipkg.so.0 not found and research led me to Question #5 here http://www.pogoplugged.com/forum/thread/15812/Optware-problems-on-Pogoplug-Pro/ which indicate that I had to have a usb drive and could not use just the flashdrive.
I am familiar enough with Linux to be dangerous but would like to learn more. Could someone explain why not to use the flash and if there is no good reason, how to use it?
THANKS
