If you've recently upgraded your drive to a WD drive, you might notice that the light turns amber after plugging it in. In order for this not to happen, you will need to disable the VCD (virtual cd), from within the drive, that is used to install WD software. Option one: reformat the drive completely. Option two, download the latest WD smartware software. Throw it in your WD drive. During installation look for the VCD option and disable it.

Also, if you don't want to do this you can just eject the VCD through the pogoplug webinterface. You will see two WD drives. Eject the one with the exclamation mark!

And done, no more amber light.
