New electronics do give off some smell when they are new and this is normal. Circuit boards are submerged in different chemicals baths during production. Operational heat will release residuals from the manufacturing process, but this is temporary. More importantly, if its ONLY warm, that's fine. If it is very hot to the touch, then that is a problem. Make sure air circulates freely around the device.

Hello all,
I am new to pogoplug, and have ordered a Pogoplug Pro device. I have connected it, but after some time i can feel a faint smell of hot electronics when really close to the top of the device. The device isn't particulary hot to the touch.
I am wondering if this is normal (since this is "always on" device I am concerned of a potential fire hazard).
