With a native Arch Linux ARM install to SATA attached drive, the best I am getting is 24MB/s, and average ~ 21MB/s so you're not far off.

Is anyone out there getting Samba speeds better than these below w/ their Pogoplug Optware setup? (I hesitate to ask it in the wider non-Optware context {like w/ Debian} cuz its apples and oranges, difficult to compare)
I currently have the following rates (average over about 1 minute, Pogoplug & MacPro on Gb network):
- read : 19MB/sec
- write: 17MB/sec
I installed Optware in order to get Samba2 up and running on my Pogoplug (V3, POGO-P21). It works well.
Two articles that referred to:
- the NSLU2 site's : http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/Samba2 (see Plug Addendum half way down the page)
In [global] of my smb.conf I have the option
socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_KEEPALIVE SO_RCVBUF=131072 SO_SNDBUF=131072 SO_KEEPALIVE
