Hi JSB--thanks for the helpful post on this. I'm also going to pass this on to the Pogoplug folks, since it seems to me that users shouldn't have to go through this much trouble to get streaming to work on consoles. I personally didn't experience this when I tested streaming to my 360, but it looks like there are cases where this could happen and it should be addressed.

I just spent hours figuring all this out, and I think if it was in the FAQ I would have been watching movies yesterday instead of today. Plus I would be so irritated at this thing. It's working great now.
Okay if you installed your pogoplug, and you couldn't see your videos you need to enable the drive from mypogoplug.com. This is documented. I went out an did that, but then I could only see 10 seconds. There are a ton of 10 seconds threads out there. I finally found one with an answer.
Everyone says you need to set your optimize field from always or preview to Never. This is assuming you don't want to have the pogoplug transcode your video which I didn't. Well people go and do this but it doesn't fix the problem. Then I read a thread where you need to disable, and re-enable the stream stuff to the xbox/ps3. So I tried that...guess what WRONG AGAIN. It still didn't work. So I read some more threads, and came upon a thread that said once you change these settings. You need to hook your HD to a computer and clear the cache folder. .c something or other. Then hook it back up to the pogoplug. Well HOLY SMOKES!!! WE ARE IN BUSINESS!!!!!
So lessons learned here. Please add to the FAQ that you may or may not need to hook the HD back up to a computer and clear its cache before the changes will take effect on your xbox/ps3. I think that will save a lot of posting.
Thank goodness for this forum.
