I purchased my Pogoplug device and downloaded something from the Pogoplug site.  I thought this was the desktop software, but any time I go to use it, there's no "application".  Is this desktop software what I need to download, or is there just the one download that everyone uses?

i believe all the "desktop" app does is creates a tray icon in the lower right corner of your screen. from this program, you can configure it to display your attached pogoplug drives as drive letters on your computer as well as share the files on your local system(you may want to turn this off if this is not what you intended).

the easiest way to access your files is via the my.pogoplug.com website.

Yes, that's all that I have now, but it sounds like there is some other desktop application. It seems weird that when I "start" the Pogoplug program, it doesn't actually open anything, other than activating the program and putting the icon in the lower right corner of my screen.

I just wondered if there was something over and above what I already have?

@Kathysask,

The Pogoplug software includes two components: 1) It turns your computer into a Pogoplug to allow you access and stream (in the case of the Premium license) from your computer and 2) mounts your Pogoplug attached drive in your file browser.

From your description of the Pogoplug icon, you likely are using Windows and the only evidence of Pogoplug is the pink icon in the task tray and your Pogoplug attached drives in Windows explorer. To begin to access more features, right-click on the Pogoplug icon in the task tray and Open Preferences and explore the various options.

Kind Regards,

Christopher
