I am having a similar problem. Since the purchase of pogoplug, which I have hardwired to our verizon router and to a Seagate 3TB drive, our wireless laptops will lose their internet connections whenever they are restarted or are idle for too long.
Network and Sharing Center show our SSID as connected, but the Pogoplug device seems to trump it and prevent internet access for the laptops. Sometimes, the troubleshooter will diagnose "invalid IP addresses" on the laptops. Other times, the device manager will show the WiFi network adapter as disabled. Most of the time, I get an "unable to detect the problem" message. There is no consistency in the issue, other than that we keep losing our internet connections. I'd love to fix the root cause of the problem, which never seemed to happen before Pogoplug.
Also, once Pogoplug is installed on a computer/laptop, should the hardwired backup drive show up on the laptop network map? I do not see it, even when I do manage to get an internet connection.
I am having network problems.
pogoplug premium V 3.1.0
Motorola SB6120 modem
WRT400N Router
new Dockstar ( 2 Seagate Freeagent 1.5 TB drives )
1 wired PC ( win 7 Ultimate )
5 wireless PC's ( 3 are Zotac boxes on TV's ) almost never more than 2 devices on at same time. All are win 7
2 Vizio Internet ready TV's
Just replaced Dockstar as drives kept disappearing...
I am now set up as WORKGROUP and assigned IP numbers for each device.
Now Network and sharing is showing multiple networks. work ( local area conn )
and Unidentified ( pogoplug )
I had been mapping both dockstar drives but FADS does not show up in network now.
should I set up as home networking ?
why am I not seeing FADDS in my network suddenly ??
Any suggestions ???
Thanks
Jerry
