I would suggest that you just buy ONE unit for testing and determine whether it works for you or not. My quick answers for your questions:
1.) Yes.
2.) YMMV.
3.) Whatever you think you'll need. How large are your files? I've used a Pogoplug Pro on a DSL connection that only offered about 420Kbps on uploads. That's fine for short documents and media streaming but you don't want multiple users to share that kind of bandwidth and you certainly don't want to be downloading large files over a connection that is that slow.
4.) Not from within the Pogoplug app.
I've been following POGO's development and I'd like to ask USERS if this will work for me.
Currently we:
- Have 50+ users
- PC's, MAC's, iDevices, Androids and Blackberries
- We all use dropbox (paid)
What we do:
Currently we use dropbox to share files, videos, photos among sales reps and management. When a rep has a meeting, they go to the videos they want to present, save it to their iPads and show it. THIS IS CRUCIAL because they don't have internet where they meet.
My quesitons are:
1: Can I download / save videos and such for offline showing?
2: DOES THE iDEVICE app work? Seriously, I've been watching the painful development of the pogo app.... if this doesn't work, then I'll have to wait.
3: What kind of bandwidth should I have to have people accessing files all the time? Fiber?
4: Can people make edits to word, excel, powerpoint, etc... files?
Thanks for your help.
Tony
Thanks for the reply.
What's YMMV?
File sizes vary, but there are many people who will be accessing the hard drive and files.... Lots of videos, etc....
Can I use docstogo to edit docs when on iPad?
Thanks again
Tony
