I'd like to know the answer to this question also... even though I have my iMac set not to index, it seems to have done it anyway!

Where does Pogoplug for Mac save it's index file? Does it cache any of the media files?
Since installing Pogoplug on my Mac, 10GB of my hard-drive space seems to have disappeared!
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks
is a hidden folder that is created in each folder you have decided to get into de pogoplug.
is called .cedata folder.
Is there anyway to check how much space the indexes are eating up on the hard drive?
Ah yes, thanks to Gerardo for pointing that out... I had forgotten long ago I had an issue on my dedicated Pogoplug drive that required deleting that invisible file.
Raj, you can download TinkerTool which will show hidden files on your drives and let you remove them:

FYI, I just deleted the .cedata folders on my iMac (they're located in each of the shared directories that Pogoplug uses) and reclaimed nearly 4GB of hard disk space! I don't want or need these indexes, which I've already turned off on the Pogoplug web portal. Hopefully in the future they'll give us a software-based method for opting out or removing these hidden cache files...

I couldn't find it under settings.
@JRB Thanks for the location of the index file(s). They were taking up a lot of space on my HD.
Hey Raj... you have to turn off indexing from the web portal... with all of your Pogoplug-enabled computers awake, log in, go to Settings > Media Settings, select the computer or device you want to change and make sure the four optimize/metadata/thumbnail settings there are all set to Never. Make sure to click "Apply changes" to make it stick, then repeat for any other devices. Then you can delete the .cedata folders and be assured they won't return. ;-)

Thanks. I couldn't find it with my Remote Sharing off. Once I turned it on, I saw the settings.
Do these two settings also create indexes?
- Optimize your videos for remote playback
- Use optimized videos for local playback

I don't think the "optimized videos" settings create indexes (maybe someone can tell us for sure), but they will eat up your hard drive space with smaller copies of all your videos, which is why I turned them off...
