I upgraded to 10.6.8 last night, and have not been able to see my external HDD (a Seagate 1TB/USB 3.0) since then.

I see "Files shared with me", but not the external HDD.

Help please!

Strange, not having any such problem here on multiple Macs (iMac, MacBookPro, MacBook Air, Mac mini). Have you tried shutting down and restarting Pogoplug?

Yes ... just tried that before I posted this message.

I just did the upgrade to 10.6.8 on my 3.2GHz core i3 iMac. Upon rebooting, I get an error saying, "Pogoplug is unable to start. Click OK to close the Pogoplug Preference Pane."
Console log shows:

I am running 3.0.1.32 of the pogoplug software.

I just upgraded to the latest version of the Pogoplug app, and it seems to have fixed my "issue".

Thanks, CloudEngines, for supporting us!

Checked for new versions, but it said I was up to date. I logged into my.pogoplug.com and downloaded the software again from the link at the bottom.
After installing and telling it I already have an account, I got the following error on account setup:
"The Pogoplug setup wizard has experienced a problem and can't continue at this time. Please click 'Finish' and try again later. If this problem continues, please contact Pogoplug support at support@pogoplug.com"

Guess it's time to send off an email....

What was the solution to this? I'm getting the exact same error on 10.7

Upgrade to the latest version of the software, and it seems to fix the issue.

Yea, but the current version of the software has been admited to by CloudEngines as having a bug that loses your files.   So what issue are you telling them to fix.  The one they are having or the one that you are about to give them?

I'm on the latest version. It's still broken. I may need to give up on the OS X version, and go with Fusion, just for Pogoplug, if the software isn't fixed shortly.

The Prefs bug is pretty bad because every time that I open my general system preferences, the entire pane freezes until the PogoPlug Prefs pane complains, and if I press All -- I can get to them. But it's time consuming. I've tried to use Spotlight, to remove every instant of Pogoplug, and then re-installed -- no luck.

OK, weeks of frustration. I have a Mac OS X version 10.6.8 (new one month ago) The past two weeks I have had the Geek Squad here three times for HOURS trying to set this up. the longest it worked was two hours. They have set up pogoplug before and found it frustrating that the web site has changed with much less information.

After the first to two times, we thought maybe it was a bad plug or external hard drive ($300). So Best buy let me exchange for two new ones. Had them out again today for two hours, new ones...worse.

Is pogoplug abandoning their "pogo PLUG" and turning toward selling their "cloud". If so, have they abandoned service for the plug, and then why would I spend the money on the "plug" if it is moving away from software? With this experience, why would i trust their cloud?

They may be just doing that. They've just updated the iOS apps but have left us with bad firmware in our PogoPlugs or bad drivers for Windows/MAC's in the lurch.

I think it's unconscionable for a company to ignore it's customers in the face of loss of user data.

Can we all spell, class action law suit?
