I installed the new desktop software recently on my main PC - chocked full of music and photos. I've set it up so that I can share, but the system tray icon is still animated, to suggest it's doing something (and the hard drive is being constantly accessed).

I'm assuming this is simply indexing the files - I don't believe they're uploaded. In which case, how long should this take? Maybe a suggestion for a future version - some way of telling the user how far through it is?

David.

The files are not uploaded... but they are indexed using the meta data from the pictures / videos / music and if you have a lot of stuff it can take a while.

It would be nice to have an option to pause the indexing (assuming that's what's been going on). Pogoplug has made my computer nearly unusable since I installed it yesterday. I let it run all night, but it was still churning away this morning.

I agree, my pogoplug has been indexing for 24 hours nonstop, there should be a way to pause it.

The drives are constantly thrashing, and its loud and annoying.
