I just recently set up a pogo drive (a Buffalo Cloudstor), and I'm trying to upload multiple pictures from my iPhone (or iPad), but don't see any way to bulk upload.

Uploading one-by-one is a nearly impossible task, with the volume of photos I have to upload (hundreds).

Any help?

I also didn't see any possible way to create folders or anything else using an iOS device.

Help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

The iPhone/iPad apps are more optimized for uploading or sharing photos on the go, and I also do not know of any way to bulk upload.

The solution is fairly simple, though--I'd just sync your iPhone and iPad, download the pictures to iPhoto (or wherever) and copy them to the Pogoplug that way.

But that defeats the whole goal of leaving my computer at home.

When I travel, I'd like to bring my camera and my iPad.  I can load all my daily photos onto the iPad, and I want to be able to dump them onto the Pogo device overnight.

Selecting photos one-by-one is simply too inconvenient when you've taken a hundred photos in one day.  It would take all night to upload!

I want to have less stuff, not more stuff, with me when I travel.  I got the Cloudstor so that I could leave my physical backup drives at home, along with my laptop.  I can travel with a camera and an iPad and not worry about my files being lost for one reason or another.

Would it be too difficult for the Pogo guys to add a "select all" or "select multiple" option when uploading photos?

I hear you--I think this usecase will continue to come up, and I hope it's on the roadmap. I do think part of the problem is how Apple wraps up photos on the device; there's no easy way (as in OS X, for example) to just simply upload the folder to the Pogoplug.

Considering the nature of this thread, also, I'm going to move it to Product Suggestions.

It seems like a major oversight to not allow bulk uploading.

Photobucket somehow managed to overcome the one-by-one upload limit (though that feature was eventually removed).

Without the ability to upload multiple iOS files at once, and without the ability to do remote Time Machine backups, this Pogo device was a waste of money.

Unless Buffalo can get their business together and tell me how I can actually do Time Machine backups, I'm tempted to return it.

So is this something that Pogo is going to figure out?

It seems like a silly oversight.

I would really like to have this too.

One workaround is to mail multiple images in one go to upload@mypogoplug.com (but this is still no real batch upload)

That's still a tedious process that involves selecting individual photos.

When you have 2 or 3 photos, that's fine. But when you have hundreds, it's impossible.

fully agree - I was just presenting a 'better' way to upload them although this is not a 'good' solution.

It's definitely an option, for sure.

This can't be something too difficult to do on the app end of things.

I FINALLY got this thing set up to do Time Machine locally. I THINK I can get it to do Time Machine remotely as well.

If I can do TM remotely, and batch-upload via iOS, then I'll be one happy panda and the Cloudstor wouldn't be a colossal waste of time and money. Even batch upload via iOS would be a massive improvement to my current situation.

So what is the likelihood that something like this will actually get adopted into the next update?

I noticed today that there was an update to the iOS app, but this issue does not seem to have been addressed.

Adding bulk upload would be massively useful. If it were included in the free version, I'd probably be so happy that I would pay the $29 fee for the PRO version.

I was just out of the country, and had ~500+ photos that I would have LOVED to load to my Pogo from the field using just my iPhone. But, unfortunately, I had to use my computer after I returned back home.

SO much promise, if ONLY you could bulk upload, this app would get a full 5 star rating.

It would also be nice to be able to delete things from the drive, and maybe create a new folder or something.

Still no support for this idea?

Clearly this device was a waste of money. That's a real shame.

Agree this should be supported. Has to be a way to upload multiple pic at a time. If PictureTransfer can do it via wifi surly pogoplug can figure out. And they should figure out how to have iOS upload none picture/video files to pogoplug device. Apple products allow to copy to iDisk, WebDAV. Or some how be able to open in pogo. Please work on these issues.

Any ideas on this feature being added?

I also face the same problem.
