Pogoplug Farming(tm) is Fun!
Hi there,
Since I´ve upgraded to the latest Pogoplug software my HDD (not my Pogoplug) on my Windows Vista Desktop is constantly busy. When I kill all the Pogoplug processes in the task manager it´s quiet again. I get the feeling that the Pogoplug driver is constantly writing to one of its log files. Has anyone else noticed that or am I the only one?
Update:
I had a closer look at the log file PP_DRIVE.log stored under C:\Users\abc\AppData\Local\Pogoplug. As you can see below it´s logging the same stuff every 5 seconds all day long:
[2011-06-05 14:51:05.7210][ 6][TRACE] *** CACHE ** GetStatus() ** No cached status ... useCache == False
[2011-06-05 14:51:10.7290][ 4][TRACE] *** CACHE ** IsWorkingInBackground() ** No cached status ... useCache == False
[2011-06-05 14:51:10.7600][ 4][TRACE] *** CACHE ** GetStatus() ** No cached status ... useCache == False
[2011-06-05 14:51:15.7370][ 6][TRACE] *** CACHE ** IsWorkingInBackground() ** No cached status ... useCache == False
[2011-06-05 14:51:15.7580][ 6][TRACE] *** CACHE ** GetStatus() ** No cached status ... useCache == False
[2011-06-05 14:51:20.7370][ 6][TRACE] *** CACHE ** IsWorkingInBackground() ** No cached status ... useCache == False
[2011-06-05 14:51:20.7370][ 6][TRACE] *** CACHE ** GetStatus() ** No cached status ... useCache == False
Is this really necessary or is there somethig wrong with my installation. I´m on Vista using Pogoplug software version 3.0.3.45.
Regards
Alex

You can open the PPDrive.config file located in the C:\Program Files\Pogoplug folder, locate the line
logger name="*" minlevel="Trace" writeTo="file"
and change it to
logger name="*" minlevel="Error" writeTo="file"
This should help.
