I noticed that the program is scanning these useless hidden thumbnail files and other tiny files. and although i can understand how sometimes syncing hidden files would be nice (security reasons?) i would like an option to not have the program scan them and instead focus what i really need from my shared folders.

Please =)

@Juice,

Which hidden files and folders do you see at my.pogoplug.com?

I'm not sure there is anything we can do about this. While Pogoplug is cross-platform, it uses embedded Linux and uses different conventions than Windows and to some extent OS X. Given the choice of mis-selecting 'hidden' files, by design we decided to make all your files are available.

Kind Regards,

Christopher

Dear Pogoplug, that is a very poor decision you are forcing upon your users.

Instead, why not give us the option to choose which folder contain media files we want to see show up in the gallery, and which don't.

This is something that has been requested by the forum over and over again for more than 2 years, yet constantly ignored.

You will never gain mainstream market share if you can't get something as simple as this right.

Instead of spending all your engineer energy copycating dropbox, how about just get this little thing right, and let pogoplug stop being a nerd toy.

Thanks,

To anyone still interested...

I use the Pogoplug drive to access the folders/files I wish to hide and place a dot before the name. This is the same way the .cedata folder is hidden from view via the Web UI.

I'm not sure if this is the best method, but it is functional for me. You may want/need to undo this prior to reconnecting the external drive to a computer, though.

The .folder method won't work for any unix based systems and Mac OS.
