Indeed it is possible.

I would refer you to use firebug-plugin in FireFox and carefully observe the URLs that we use. Particularly note the results of the RPC listFiles. It contains just about everything you need to construct a URL leading directly to any file. Of course, you must be logged in for the URL to actually work. Or you'll just get an HTTP 500 error.
