I too am experiencing the same problems. I have had a support ticket for the last two weeks with pogoplug and haven't gotten any solution. This shared folder feature worked flawlessly for months but now I get a no videos message for every folder. All I've gotten as a response was to use the local videos folder but that's just a useless list with no folder structure or any way to properly sort through my hundreds of videos. Come on pogo plug team. Provide us with a fix!
Hi All,
To work around the lack of folder support when browsing the Pogoplug on my Xbox, I did what others have suggested and shared particular folders with myself. This allowed for me to go to "My Videos" on my Xbox, select "Pogoplug" > "My Shared Folders" and view these shared folders (for example, I shared a folder called "Videos" which contains lots of my ripped movies).
However, I can no longer see any shared folders. If I connect through the web interface at my.pogoplug.com and click to view folders shared with me, I can still see that "Videos" is shared.
Just as a test, I have browsed to the (empty) "Shared with me" Pogoplug folder on my Xbox, and then via the web interface turned OFF the Xbox sharing functionality - it immediately kicks me out of the Xbox Pogoplug folder (meaning that the DLNA/uPnP service does appear to be starting and stopping correctly).
Does anyone know of any way to force the DLNA/uPnP service on the Pogoplug to somehow "refresh" itself in order to re-learn about shared folders?
Many thanks,
AJ
Hi Ed,
Thanks for your response. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue... I will raise a support ticket too, hopefully if a few people are affected by this then the Pogoplug team might get on to resolving it.
Cheers,
AJ
I have the same issue .. any resolution so far ?
It has been working fine, stopped suddenly - not sure if there was an auto update on Pogoplug or Xbox.
Sorry,
The files-shared-with-me access from UPnP has been removed.

I have had a support ticket with pogoplug since may 10th . They have given me no clue as to what the problem could be and even went as far as telling me that shared folders on the Xbox never worked. Now it is June the 15th and you come on here and say pogoplug has removed this feature? I just spoke with the pogo rep through my support ticket and they offered me no answer other than I'll keep the ticket open we are working on it. Why was it removed? Why wasn't it made into just an option of turning it on or off rather than just removing the feature without telling anyone?
I'm with Ed on this one, it's definitely not acceptable to ignore our support tickets and remove functionality that people were clearly using. Why would this functionality be removed? It made uPnP via the Pogoplug usable!
Hello,
After some in-office discussion, I've been informed that the feature was not completely removed as I first thought. Only PPVIDEO and WindowsPC-software should now be omitting UPnP-FilesSharedWithMe. This was due to a performance-issue.
If your device is not a PPVIDEO or the Windows-RemoteAccessSharing software, you should still have access to that folder. Otherwise, please let me know what kind of Pogoplug/PCsoftware version you have.
If I find out anymore about this, I'll post it here.

I'm using pogoplug v2. Isn't the pogovideo a superior version than my pogo? Why would you keep the feature on a less capable pogo but disable it on the pogovideo? The feature being disabled makes sense as I was able to add folders to shared with me before and it just worked and now when added they don't show up. How many people need to complain before this feature is given back to us? I also don't understand how features get removed without any input from the end user. A simple change for "performance issues" has given a number of us happy pogoplug users countless hours of frustration with no answer from pogoplug and nothing we can do but wait and hope we get functionality we use to have back.
I have also opened a ticket about this issue. My unit just started doing it today and it is really ****ing me off.
I don't know if this will work for everyone or if this has been tried. It is not as nice as before but I just shared my entire drive with myself, not just the movie folder I had shared before. Now when I go through the drive, then my movie folder, all of my videos show up.
I've got the same problem, tried sharing the entire drive as suggested above but to no avail. If I click on local videos it kinda works as I get a list of every video on my hard drive (after about 2-3 mins of loading) but this is just not good enough. I'd be interested to know what the performance issue was that this has 'fixed' because my pp was working great up until recently (I first encountered the issue about a month or so ago.
The one thing that doesn't suprise me is the quality (or lack thereof) of customer service. Having trawled these messageboards for some time searching for answers to certain questions, the issue of people not having their issues resolved comes up time and time again. How can you expect to grow any kind of customer base with people waiting over a month for a reasonable response??
ANYWAY - please fix this issue as you have essentially removed 90% of my reasons for owning a pogoplug. In the meantime, I'll start looking for viable alternatives.
PogoPlug Pro here:
I too was sharing with myself to organize videos (kids, home movies, etc...), and the feature has stopped working... why do they keep on breaking or removing features that people actually use?
Because they are idiots. They also do not respond to issues. Like this one I've also been told that you should create a new folder on your HDD, move a movie you know works into that folder, then share that folder and it might work.
Well,
Not sure what did it, but this morning it works!
ejected my hard drive from pogo plug pro, power cycled PP, plugged in drive, checked the XBOX, network error. checked the PP web gui, the Drive was no longer setup for streaming under media settings. (I was getting pissed that I'd have to enable media sharing every time my PP or drive was unplugged). Enabled Streamng agan, checked the XBox, local folders and the Shared folders work again!
