It would be great if the My Pogoplug site used HTML5 for MP3 playback. The current Flash based player works, but it's too basic and does crash from time to time.

This would also open up access to this feature on more platforms!

Hi Schleppy,

Actually, my.pogoplug does support HTML5 when you check 'Use HTML5 audio if your browser supports it' on the Media Settings sub-menu page.

Have you already tried this?

I do want to clear something else up.

HTML5 support is browser dependent as well. If the browser doesn't support the audio codec using HTML5, the browser falls back to Flash. This is the case for Firefox and .mp3 files. Even with the HTML5 checkbox selected, Firefox will fall back to Flash to playback .mp3's.

I hope this makes sense.

Kind Regards,

Christopher

Thanks for the information Christopher! I actually do have that checked off, but kept seeing the flash player in Firefox. I guess that explains it!

Regardless of the HTML5/Flash debate, you guys really do need to improve the web audio player. Not displaying any ID3 info is kind of odd these days.

Thanks for chiming in Christopher, it's very much appreciated!

@Schleppy,

My pleasure, glad I could help.

Regarding the Media Player in general, I'll forward this to the product team.
