1) If the usb port on the front truly does not function, this may be your only recourse. Before you return it, be sure to deactivate the plug from my.pogoplug.com.
2) Are you dragging and dropping to the web interface, or to the Pogooplug drive via the Win/Mac/Linux application that presents as a local drive?
Hi all,
I'm new to this so please take it easy on me and here goes. My first question is, when I set up my PogoPlug I found the front USB doesn't work. I've tried all three of my drives that work on the other ports, but nothing. When I return this to Best Buy and bring another pogoplug home will it recognize all of the share folders etc. that I've set up on the drives or will I have to start over?
Secondly, the help files say you can drag and drop files and folders into the destination drive, but I can't do this? The pictures I drag over to the folder on my drive just open and not transfer. The files I drag over, shows in my download notifier but doesn't transfer into the destination file?
Can anyone let me know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance. Scott.....
Thanks for the quick reply!
1. Does deactivate before returning mean all of the drives I have connected?
2. I've been trying through the web interface. The drives don't show on one computer, using Vista and another using Win 7.
Sorry for being such a dummy and Thanks again for your help!
1) That means logging into my.pogoplug.com, going to Settings > General Settings and clicking the appropriate 'Unregister' link for that device.
2) I've never tried drag & drop via the web interface. Which browser are you using? Try the Upload Files button, and then Add Files
1. Thanks, this one is answered. :0)
2. I'm using Chrome on the Vista machine and IE 9 on the Win 7 machine and neither of them will drag and drop. I've used the upload and add files and that works fine. It's just so many more steps than drag and drop that the help files says it supports. As my wife says, I just try to shortcut everything.
