Is there anyway to retain the original 16x9 Aspect Ratio when transcoding from the original AVC HD video file?

My pogoplug squeezes result into 4x3 ratio. Must be a transcode setting somewhere I am missing..

I am having the same problem and am told the engineers are working on a fix. I cannot imagine releasing the product without having tested this feature. Since most all movies are 16:9 ration, didn't they see the problem before releasing? It makes my videos unwatchable with the squeezed format. Other that this, everything else works great. Looking forward to the solution, because if squeezes more than just AVC HD videos, e.g. MPEG-2.

How are you viewing the videos? I've found that when using the Pogoplug Pro the behavior varies depending upon which browser I'm using (i.e. Safari, Firefox, or Chrome). Also, with Safari it depends upon whether you use the "Full-screen" button on the my.pogoplug.com site or the full screen option within the video player controls itself (one combination or the other usually works for the correct aspect ratio).

I am using Chrome. I tried it on Internet Explorer and also Firefox. The Pogoplug support team said the engineers are working on it, so it appears to be with the software in the unit.

I just got the PPV to stream my AVCHD videos and noticed this as well. How very disappointing.

This good news is that I just heard from PogoPlug and the new update will have a fix to this problem which is due out next month. When one downloads the video file the correct aspect ratio is preserved so the problem is with their streaming software. With this fix, the device will meet all my expectations.

That will be good if it works. On my old pogo I waited for a fix and after I got it it screwed up a bunch of other things. At this point I'm not sure i'll still have pogpplug in a month.

Great news. I just downloaded the new version of Pogoplug (3.0.3.45) and they have fixed the aspect ratio and the widescreen format is no longer compressed. Thank you pogoplug
