When I want to create a direct link to a file, the first time it gives me the incorrect URL. But when I go back to "Edit Share" and then look at the URL again, it has the correct one.
Here's the one it gave me when I first created the direct link:
http://my.pogoplug.com/share/Oj5ILFoG9WC_pO8QqCkgJgItptmqoXG-j-eNM1PSYHwF9fpzk/votecrazy.png
Here's the correct one after clicking Edit Share again:
http://my.pogoplug.com/share/Oj5ILFoG9WC_pO8QqCkgJg/ItptmqoXG-j-eNM1PSYHwF9fpzk/votecrazy.png
The difference is a missing slash ( / ) in the URL.
That is very interesting.
I currently don't see this.
Does this still happen when you do direct-URL shares? If so, please mention your Browser, OperatingSystem version, PogoplugVersion.

No it seems the last update that was pushed out to my device with the web UI upgrade corrected the problem.
I created an universal url, but it still asks for log in, whathappen if my friend don't want to register? Can they still upload to my pogoplug to share?

No. For someone to upload or make any changes, they must login.

So for my friends who don't have a pogoplug, and just want to upload to my shared folders, can they register for an account for free, and where is this link ?

They will get an email and following the link, there should be something to click on near the top of the screen to create an account.
