Greetings Jelbrug. I suggest you try these steps to allow your friend access from his/her iPhone to a shared PogoPlug file on your account.
1. I assume your friend has a PogoPlug account established, but if not he/she must set up an account just as you did when you started up your PogoPlug. Instructions on setting up an account are within the PogoPlug instructions you received with your device, but also availabe within the PogoPlug website.
2. Next you establish a Shared Folder within your PogoPlug drive indicating your friend's email account as authorized access. You can set up the file as either read only (RO) or read and write (RW). You might want to set up one of each RO and RW files so that you easily share and receive files from your friend. Instructions for establishing a shared folder are available within the PogoPlug website.
3. Place files you wish to share with your friend within the shared folder you established above. Now both you and your friend can access the files in this folder. For a RW folder, both you and your friend have full control over the files including the delete function. If this feature is not desired, choose RO option instead of RW.
4. I assume (as you noted) your friend already has the iPhone ap on his/her iPhone. If not, he/she can acquire the ap for free using the Ap Store program on his/her iPhone.
5. Your friend now needs to log into his/her PogoPlug account using the iPhone ap, with his/her email address and password. Once logged on, your friend can see and open the shared folder in a similar fashion as when using the web-based application. The iPhone ap is not as sophisticated as the web-based or the desktop applications, but is still capable of viewing files, photos and movies.
6. A point to keep in mind: The iPhone ap provides the option of remaining active even after closing the PogoPlug screen. If this option is selected, when your friend returns to the iPhone ap he/she will find the ap begins at the same place it was left during its last use.
Hope this helps. Bronson
