I'm running Windows 7- just installed Pogoplug software 3.01, then connected the new Pogoplug to my router and attached a 4g USB drive. When I go to My.pogoplug the only folders appearing are  - Videos, Music, Pictures, Desktop and Documents which contain the files on my home computers hard drive not the USB drive connected to Pogoplug. If I click on a folder, the files populate HOWEVER no where do I see the USB drive or files on it. I thought when I accessed My.pogoplug that the external drive connected to the pogoplug would appear NOT my actual computer. Also when I go into Windows Explorer,  Pogoplug appears on the P drive and below it is a folder named "Files shared with me". When I try and drag a file to it, I get a popup stating "you need permission to perform this action" Do I have to give permison somewhere to allow the copying of files to that folder? I'm lost in figuring out how to use the pogoplug

I have gone through a number of areas on the forum which states to go to My.pogoplug and then setting to eject the USB drive, but haven't seen this option at all. I was going to eject the USB stick and put it in on my computer and click fix in properties as described to reset it but can't find the eject setting.

HELP Please

Hi,

1. If your pogoplug device connected drive doesn't appear on my.pogoplug.com you need to check that you have activated that device (you can do it from here https://my.pogoplug.com/activate/pp.html)

2. Files shared with me is collection of the files that other users shared with you, you can read/copy but you can't move or delete them, and you can't copy to that folder if users didn't gave you a permission to do so (by default shares are read-only).

Hope this helps.

I feel soooooooo Stupid! I've looked at all the tutorials over and over and all they say is - plug in your external device and it appears on my.pogoplug. Once I read your response , I new the Activate related to the new drive and not a re-activation of my pogoplug.

I really appreciate your time and apologize to all for taking up your time
