Pogoplug has been very Mac friendly right from the start. Personally, I haven't had any issues with the Desktop software and have been using it both for work and personal use with no hangups. I'm surprised at the issues you've been having (I checked out some of your old threads) and also surprised your support issues haven't been answered yet. You might want to try emailing support AT pogoplug DOT com if you haven't already, and I'll try to pass this on as well (many of the Pogoplug folks hang out on the forums if they have the chance)
It appears that the Desktop Software drive clients, (both the old v2.5.5, and the new v3.x), do not work consistently on a Macintosh running either Leopard or Snow Leopard. If it works for you, consider yourself lucky, (and post about your installation).
There are unanswered and open support issues by me that are over three weeks old, and there are unanswered forum threads that are years old on the Macintosh thread. New threads are started daily by Mac users regarding disappearing drives, drives and files not accessable, and the PogoPlug devices generally not working as they should.
Is this being touted as Mac Compatible just for making sales?
I also have similar problems with my Pogoplug ( folders and files disappearing after the copy: it seems they are copied then deleted after the copy, or appear in double and disappear after ) with old and new soft, on my Mac Book and on my IMac ( both under Snow Leopard ). And no solution up to now!
Have you guys tried running the app in 32 bit mode? I'm pretty sure a work around was posted here.
Miquer said: Sorry, i found nothing about this. How do you run the app in 32 bits?
Now that I look at my Mac, I don't think the latest Desktop app can be run in 32 bit mode, since it's a "control panel" now and not an app in the traditional sense.
Sorry!
OK, that's right. I use the latest desktop app and the problems are the same that with the older app. These apps are bugged ( no problem with the web page but it is very boring! ).
These are the really cool notes that pop up when I try to drag and drop any file into the USB connected drive, (a WD Passport Essentials drive).
These messaged are seen when running Mac OS 10.6.7, and V3.0.1.24 of the PogoPlug Drive software.
It just does not work.

I think I am having a similar issue... up until a few weeks ago, my drives (500gb drive partitioned into 2 250 partitions) showed up in the sidebar of my finder window as extra drives, which was great; each partition showed up as a separate drive.
After a power failure (I think), the drive did not eject properly and I had to reformat one partition due to corruption messages and inability to add new items (copied the contents to the other, empty, partition first).
Now the empty partition (has been reformatted as HFS, journaled) does not show up in the sidebar but does show up on the web interface. I've just "upgraded" to the new desktop app (3.0.1) and still no dice.
I guess I don't mind logging into the web interface but I miss seeing it in the sidebar. Any suggestions? Is this similar to what others have experienced? More importantly, is there a solution or workaround?
I tried a suggestion elsewhere on this site to check the box for "ignoring permissions" for the drives and it didn't change anything.
(Mac OS 10.6.7 fwiw)
Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)
