What bad things have you heard? Generally, in my experience, the Pogoplug Video worked exactly like it should have, as long as I used a video in a format it supported.

Your mileage will vary based on what codec the video is using, the quality of the video, and most importantly your home upload speed and remote download speed. As for the Pogoplug Video hardware, it was pretty solid in my experience.
