Hi MCK--current Pogoplug products should not lose any of their functionality with the release of the new desktop software product. The difference is that is the desktop software is installed on a machine with a premium license, the files on that computer can be streamed to other remote clients.

Well, Congratulations to Pogoplug on their new products... I'm trying to understand how they fit with our existing products, what features are new on the new devices, and most importantly, I'd like assurances that the functionality we have on our existing devices will be maintained...
I have no current need for the software that turns my computer into a PP, as I use a docked laptop, but I do use the iPhone, iPad, and Android clients to stream H.264 video from my nearly new Pro PP. It would be very unfortunate to lose any current functionality. I know the iPad client is presently broken, as were the Android and iPhone clients at one time... I'm hoping for a speedy resolution in that regard...
A careful, complete discussion of how the new products fit in the product mix, along with a clear articulation of what will/won't be supported going forward is clearly in order, at this time. Thanks!
Hi Peter-
Thanks for the reply. I wasn't as concerned about the new software, as I was the new hardware- as well as my recent experience where streaming has been broken in many of the clients (Android and iPad iOS). I'm hoping, from the tone of your post, that I have nothing to worry about, going forward. When the clients work, streaming H.264 works perfectly for us.

I would also like to hear a little more from Pogoplug directly about the direction things are headed. As my other threads demonstrate, current users aren't 100% pleased with the current direction the software has headed.
i would like to be able to keep using just pogoplug software with my pogoplug drive and not have to install the bloated full version that turns my computer into a pogoplug. i know i can still get the old version, but they should make it part of the install where you choose which you want when you open the exe file.
